摘要： The present invention generally relates to a folding step stool that is, in one embodiment, mounted and stored within a cabinet. Children and short adults are typically not tall enough to readily access a kitchen or bathroom sink. Accordingly, many homes have a portable step stool located in the kitchen or bathroom. While effective, one problem with such a portable step stool is storage of the stool when not in use. Aspects of the present invention are directed to a folding step stool that may be mounted within an interior of a cabinet. When not in use, the entirety of the folding step stool may be disposed within an interior of the cabinet to permit closure of the cabinet door. Likewise, when needed, the cabinet door may be opened and the step stool may be deployed to provide one or more steps for use in accessing a counter or sink above the cabinet.

Accordingly, even when the door has a heavy weight due to its material of a reinforcing glass, the hinge assembly or the damper assembly can endure the weight of the door. This may prevent noise or impact occurring when the door is closed.

摘要： A robust, motorized moveable shelf assembly having a shelf carriage, a stationary support structure, and a motorized drive assembly that can be retrofitted into an existing cabinet structure or be combined with a cabinet structure in which the shelf carriage can rotationally-move outside and either downward or upward of the stationary support structure and back again so that the shelf carriage is more readily accessible to a person of limited mobility. A linkage arm powered by a motor moves through an arcuate path to drive the shelf carriage from a first at rest position to a second extended position. In one embodiment, the shelf carriage has a bottom edge with a chamfered rear edge to provide clearance during movement. In another embodiment, the shelf carriage includes a moveable bottom flap, a rail, and a wheel attached to a lower portion of the shelf carriage where the wheel tracks the rail to eliminate the need for the chamfered rear edge. Other embodiments include barriers applied to the front of each horizontal shelf of the shelf carriage and cabinet doors attached to the front of the shelf carriage.

摘要： A table or similar structure is provided having an expandable surface area arrangement where the usable or working surface area is retractable into and out of a housing along a curvilinear path that includes both horizontal and vertical components and wherein weight compensating structure is provided to offset the impact of vertical movement of the surface area. The usable surface is formed from an array of adjacent panels connected by a backing web which allows them to lie flush together when the surface area is retracted for use and to separate as needed to follow the curvilinear path when retracted into the housing for storage. The extent of movement into and out of the housing is variable according to the amount of surface area required in a given instance. When implemented into a dining table, for example, vertical support legs for one end of the table can be attached to the end panel of the surface area which is first withdrawn from the housing. The panel are supported by telescopic guide rails which retract into and out of the housing coincident with the movement of the panels, but to which all of the panels are not fixed at all times. The housing can include an opening to allow debris to be removed from the panels even when retracted into the housing.
