    • Active containers and related systems configured for destroying container contents may include safes with a hardened storage space, a content destruction element configured to destroy material contained in the storage space, and an arming device. The content destruction element may include, for example, an incendiary, an explosive, a liquid, a gas, a magnet and/or an electrical source. The arming device may be configured to arm and initiate the content destruction element using various modes, which may be based on different arming criteria and firing criteria. The arming criteria and/or the firing criteria may include movement of the container, acceleration, penetration of the container, elapsed time, an arming signal, as well as an explicit firing signal. The container may include various sensors to assist in making relevant determinations, such as a positioning system, an accelerometer, a heat sensor, a pressure sensor, etc.

    • An apparatus for storing a bill transport container. The apparatus includes a holding compartment for holding the bill transport container. The bill transport container includes a cancellation unit for invalidating bills that are held and a control unit having a timer that triggers the cancellation unit after a preset time interval. A control unit of the apparatus and the control unit of the bill transport container can have a data transmission link set up between them when the bill transport container is held in the holding compartment. This link can be used to transmit data for setting the timer of the control unit. A bill transport container is included in which in a first mode of operation the control unit triggers the cancellation unit after a first preset time interval and in a second mode of operation it triggers the cancellation unit after a second preset time interval.

    • The present invention relatest to a process for opening a container for the transportation of valuable objects or valuable documents, for example. The container (1) includes a first electronic unit (2), which allows deactivation of an alarm system and/or opening of the container. A first key (10) required to open the container includes a second electronic unit (12), which communicates with the first electronic unit (2) such as to initiate opening of the container. There is used a stationarily disposed second key (20) which together with the first key (10) provides the complete code-set (ABCD) required to initiate deactivation and/or opening of the container (1). The stationarily disposed second key (20) includes a third electronic unit (22) which contains a subset (CD) of the complete code-set (ABCD) required to initiate deactivation and/or opening of the container (1). The electronic unit (12) of the first key (10) contains a subset (AB) of the complete code (ABCD) required to initiate deactivation and/or opening of the container (1). The inventive process ensures that the container (1) will be opened at the correct geogaphic destination and, when necessary, also within a determined time span.
