A recycling bin or other containers may be stored upon the cart, loaded with recyclables, then the cart may be rolled to a curbside collection location with the ramp locked. The ramp is unlocked and lowered at the collection location, the front end of the cart is lifted to slide a container down the ramp, the cart is drawn forward to withdraw the ramp from beneath the container, and the ramp is rotated back up to a locked position.

摘要： A body for a refuse collection vehicle includes a frame on which are mounted a hopper compartment and an adjacent storage compartment. The hopper compartment has a pair of opposing sidewalls, a closed forward end, an open rear end and a hopper compartment floor at a first level. The storage compartment also has a forward end that opens into the hopper compartment, a rear end having a tailgate mounted thereon, and a storage compartment floor at a second level. The second level is raised above, or at an elevation higher than, the first level. The refuse collection vehicle body also includes a transition floor between the hopper compartment floor at the first level and the storage compartment floor at the second level, and a crusher panel that is adapted to apply a downwardly directed compressive force to refuse material in the hopper compartment and to sweep said refuse material from the hopper compartment into the storage compartment. The vehicle body also includes means for removing refuse material from the storage compartment.

摘要： A yard waste handling apparatus includes a trailer with a dump box operably mounted on the forward end and a tailgate pivotally mounted on the rearward end. The tailgate may be pivoted from a vertical position to a loading position sloped downwardly to the ground. The dump box has an operable front wall which may be pivoted to an open position to permit dumping of the contents from the dump box. A hydraulic scissors hoist under the dump box and connected to the trailer frame is operable to pivot the dump box about the forward edge of the bottom of the dump box to thereby dump the contents of the dump box to one side of the trailer. A hopper is mounted on a lift arm which is operably mounted to the dump box, the lift arm raising the hopper from a loading position on the ground to a raised position adjacent the open upper end of the dump box. An hydraulic cylinder connected between the hopper and the lift arm is operable to pivot the hopper to a dumping position over the open upper end of the dump box.

摘要： A refuse collection vehicle which has a refuse collection hopper mounted thereto, such that the hopper has a closed first end and an open second end and an opening located adjacent the first end for providing access to the hopper. A tailgate is connected to the hopper which, in conjunction with the hopper, defines with an inner cavity. The tailgate is movable between a closed position for covering the second end of the hopper and an open position for uncovering at least a portion of the second end of the hopper for emptying refuse therefrom. A divider panel is mounted within the hopper for generally horizontally dividing the inner cavity into an upper chamber and a lower chamber. A paddle is connected to the divider panel and is movable relative thereto to thereby change the relative volume of the upper and lower chambers. The paddle cooperates with the tailgate for selectively emptying at least one of the upper chamber and the lower chamber when the tailgate is in the open position.

摘要： This invention pertains to a combined refuse vehicle and refuse side loaded and recycling curbside collector vehicle. Recycled materials may be placed either in (i) a hopper which is elevated and tilted to discharge into the upper, open end of a recycling bin or (ii) to elevate roller cart vehicles into an upper loading position. In either event, the bins are side tilted and displaced transversely of the vehicle axis for roll-off clearance. Refuse is loaded at curbside level and forced into a packer body from the body up whereby previously charged refuse acts to compress subsequently charged refuse. A tag axle-drive axle system is disclosed which, by means of a proportioning valve, causes the legal loads on the tag axle-drive axle combination to be reached simultaneously.

There is disclosed a compactor having a two-part compacting platen adapted to guide refuse entering the body through the upper loading opening into a position to be acted upon by the lower part of the compacting platen and capable of longitudinal movement within the body. The body is pivotally mounted on a chassis and is capable of pivoting upwardly away from the chassis to dump refuse contained in the body out through the discharge opening. An alternate embodiment of the invention in a side loading refuse handling device is also disclosed.
