摘要： A linear actuator having a low profile and a long stroke is provided. The actuator includes a housing integrally connected to a telescoping piston. The piston may be extended by a fluid such as inflation gas provided by an inflation gas generator in fluid communication with the piston. The piston extends rapidly through a one-shot stroke. The extending piston converts energy in the fluid into motion for performing linear work. The linear actuator may be formed from a single piece of parent material through stamping processes including deep draw stamping. Alternatively, other metal forming processes may be used to form the linear actuator.

摘要： A combined dump truck and spreader apparatus is disclosed for selectively dumping and spreading materials. The apparatus includes a truck chassis and a body for receiving and dispensing the materials. The body has a first and a second end and a first and second curved side wall. The body is secured to the chassis and a tailgate is secured to the first end of the body. An auger arrangement is disposed within the body and extends between the first and second ends thereof for transporting the materials along the body. The tailgate defines an opening which co-operates with the auger arrangement for permitting the flow therethrough of the materials. The arrangement is such that selective spreading and dumping of the materials from the opening is permitted.

The pivot members are used to move the secondary frame between a raised position and a lowered position with respect to the base frame. A handle is rotatably attached to the base frame and at least one raising arm is connected between the handle and the secondary frame. The handle is movable between a first position corresponding to the lowered position of the secondary frame and a second position corresponding to the raised position of the secondary frame. When the handle is moved from its first position to its second position, the raising arms pull said secondary frame into its raised position about the pivot members. A locking bar is provided to secure the secondary frame in the raised position.

摘要： This invention provides a truckbed security system which includes a substantially-horizontal platform designed to cover the entire top opening of the cargo bed of a pickup truck, lockably, thereby providing security and protection to the contents within. The horizontal platform is strong and rigid enough to carry a heavy payload and is attached by hinge to the rear of the cargo bed allowing the platform's front end to be raised to a convenient height for providing access to the interior of the cargo bed and the contents within. To raise the platform, there is a hydraulic cylinder operated by an integral hydraulic power unit, powered by the battery of the pickup truck, and operator-controlled with a locking key switch. The top of the platform may be used to carry the payload which would normally be carried within the cargo bed. The platform, when raised hydraulically to a substantial angle, can serve as a dump bed with limited capacity.

摘要： A device and method for locking a slidable and tiltable truck bed against tilting when the truck bed is in the forward position adjacent the truck cab are presented. The device includes a movable actuator that communicates with the truck's hydraulic system to effect tilting. If this actuator is prevented from moving, the tilting function cannot be accessed. The actuator is locked by restraining its top end between two tabs at one end of a hinge. A spring positioned between a fixed support, to which is also affixed the other end of the hinge, and one of the tabs, in the absence of compression, permits the actuator free motion; upon a forward sliding of the truck bed, however, the spring is compressed, moving the tabs downward to engage and restrain the actuator top end.

A poppet includes an orifice that receives the spool for enabling the poppet to be slidably movable on the spool in the longitudinal direction.
