    • A folding apparatus includes a folding blade cylinder that carries at least one group of identical tools which are distributed homogeneously about the periphery of the folding blade cylinder. A cam plate is traced or followed by a control lever of each such group of tools and is usable to control a working movement of the tool. A cover disk, consisting of a plurality of cover cams, can be rotated. The cover cams of the cover disk are displaceable between an inactive position, in which they enable the control of the working movement by the cam plate, and an active position in which they prevent such movement. Two groups of tools are used on the folding blade cylinder and the cover cams form a first group of cams at an angular distance of between 60° or 120° to each other, and a second group of cams at an angular distance of between 90° to 180° to each other.

    • The present invention relates to a single faced corrugated pasteboard manufacturing apparatus. To considerably reduce running costs and insufficient bonding of a single faced corrugated pasteboard sheet and occurrence of wrinkles due to an enlargement in machine width, there is provided a single faced corrugated pasteboard manufacturing apparatus for corrugating a medium 1 between a pair of corrugated rolls 4 and 5, supporting the corrugated medium 1 on a surface of the corrugated roll 4, and bonding a liner board 2 on the medium 1 being supported to manufacture a single faced corrugated pasteboard sheet 3. The apparatus includes a pair of facing rolls 21 and 22 provided to face the corrugated roll 4 and rotatable in the same direction as the corrugated roll 4; and a plurality of endless members 23, wound around the pair of facing rolls 21 and 22 in an axial direction of the facing rolls, for pressing the liner board 2 against the medium 1 being supported on the surface of the corrugated roll 4.

    • A self-supporting, pleated filter, and method of making the same. The method includes forming a plurality of pleats in a filter media that extend along a front face and a rear face. The pleats include a plurality of pleat tips and sloping side surfaces generally perpendicular to the direction of pleating. At least one planar reinforcing strip oriented in the direction of pleating is bonded to the pleat tips on the front face. At least one reinforcing member is positioned along the rear face of the filter media. The filter media is then cut to size. Frame members are applied for some applications. The reinforcing member may be a reinforcing strip oriented in the direction of pleating and bonded to the rear face of the filter media prior to the step of forming the plurality of pleats. A second planar reinforcing strip may optionally be bonded to the reinforcing strip pleat tips. The reinforcing member, the first reinforcing strip and the second reinforcing strip can be aligned to form a truss structure. Alternatively, reinforcing strips oriented perpendicular to the direction of pleating are bonded to the rear face of the filter media prior to the step of forming the pleats. In another embodiment, a reinforcing member is applied to the rear face of the filter media after the pleats have been formed. The reinforcing member is positioned along at least one of the sloping side surfaces of the pleats on the rear face in a direction perpendicular to the direction of pleating. In another embodiment, a scrim is positioned along the rear face of the filter media. The scrim can be bonded to the frame members, the filter media and/or a portion of the frame members extend over a perimeter of the scrim to secure it to the pleated filter.

    • A laminated single faced flute comprises a fluted layer (12) and a printed facing sheet (14). The fluted layer (12) comprises an embossed layer. The laminated single faced flute only comprises a single embossed layer and a single facing sheet.
