摘要： A gas cylinder control system for use with machine systems such as die stamping systems that includes at least one gaseous fluid cylinder associated with the machine system, gaseous intensifier control cylinder normally operated in timed relation to the gaseous cylinder and a passage providing communication between the gaseous cylinder and the gaseous intensifier control cylinder. The gaseous intensifier cylinder operates at substantially higher pressure than the die cylinder. A normally closed control valve is provided in the passage and is operable to open the passage in time relation to the operation of the machine system in order to apply the higher gaseous pressure of the gaseous intensifier cylinder to the gaseous cylinder and lock the gaseous cylinder and prevent it from moving until the control valve is actuated to close the passage thereby providing a predetermined time delay.

摘要： In a mold apparatus, the receiving molding surface and the opposing molding surface are each mounted coaxially and in sliding fashion within an alignment means. Both of these alignment means have an equal number of spaced apart alignment pads which are positioned such that opposing pads will be in cooperable engagement with each other during pressing.Utilizing the disclosed apparatus, a method for molding precisely shaped articles, such as magnetic memory disc substrates which require precisely parallel, opposite molded surfaces, is described. Simply stated, the method utilizes the alignment pads' thermal expansion characteristics to induce a controlled level of thermal distortion to obtain pad lengths which result in parallel opposing molding surfaces. There are two methods for accomplishing this pad length required for parallel molding surfaces: the first method, controlled heating, consists of introducing heat to a pad to cause it to expand, thereby extending the length thereof; the second method, controlled cooling, consists of introducing cooling to a pad to cause it to contract, thereby shortening the length thereof.Once pad lengths are adjusted and thus the molding surfaces are parallel, the glass article may be pressed. This method is suitable for press molding any glass article which requires parallel opposing surfaces, regardless of the article's thickness.

摘要： A compressed gas and a liquid are contained in a cylinder. A liquid chamber containing the liquid and a gas chamber containing the gas are divided by a metallic bellows. The liquid chamber is situated on the side of an open end of the cylinder. A rod is inserted in the cylinder. A sealing assembly is provided at the open end of the cylinder. The sealing assembly has a bearing member at only one portion of the cylinder with respect to the axial direction thereof. A space extends throughout the circumference between the outer peripheral surface of the inner end of the rod and the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder. A seal device for sealing the liquid in the liquid chamber includes a seal ring intimately in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rod and an elastomer ring provided on the outer peripheral surface side of the seal ring and capable of elastic deformation in the radial direction of the rod. The rod can swing within the range of an angle .theta. to the axis of the cylinder around the bearing member. The elastomer ring is deformed as the rod swings.

摘要： A dough forming die assembly for the manufacture of machine-made pizza crusts in cooperation with a pizza pan having a generally circular central portion surrounded by upwardly sloping walls joining a horizontal rim. The dough forming die is mounted to a vertically movable base and provided with a generally planar face portion having a surrounding recessed rim. The outer wall of said rim is provided with a downwardly extending thin lip adapted to engage the upper portion of said sloping walls of said pan. A cylindrical, ring-shaped sealing member is mounted to the base for limited slidable movement relative to said die between a raised position and a lowered position engaging said pan and slideably engages the outer wall of said rim. The sealing ring includes a bottom edge provided with a radius forming a downwardly extending thin lip on the inner wall of said bottom edge conformed to sealingly engage the lip on the recesses of said die and the sloping walls of said pan to confine the pizza dough between said recess of said die and the sloping walls of said pan.

摘要： A quick change apparatus for a trim die assembly is provided to reduce die set-up and change-over time. The trim die assembly is provided with lift hooks for the forks of a forklift truck to carry it between storage and the press and to eliminate potentially damaging contact between the keyways in the bottom of the die and the forks. Locating pins and stops are provided between the press and die assembly to permit quick and positive positioning of the die assembly above the press bed. The connecting post between the part locator member of the trim die and the press has been modified to eliminate its projection beneath the die assembly and therefore eliminate damage to the post during set-up, movement and/or storage. The modified post is also adapted to assist in the positioning of the die assembly on the press bed.
