摘要： An extrusion head is provided for extruding flat profiles for producing tread strip portions of vehicle tires from mixtures of rubber or plastics materials, which permits one of the constituents such as the tread strip mixture to be changed without adversely affecting the other constituent parts of the mixture, such as the lateral rubber strip mixtures and the base rubber layer. This is achieved by suitably deflecting the flow channels for the lateral rubber layers in a front template. The flow channel for the lateral strips enters the template below the flow channel for the tread strip but discharges alongside the lateral edges of the tread strip. The head comprises a fixed central portion and pivotable upper and lower portions, the flow channels for the constituents of the mixture being defined by channels formed in insert members located between the head portions. By so doing, the flow channels for the base layer and for the lateral strips can be formed in one of the insert members leaving only the flow channel for the tread strip to be formed in the other insert member. Since it is the tread strip mixture which is most frequently changed, this can now be effected without adversely affecting the other two mixtures.

摘要： An extrusion head for producing profiles from different compounds comprises a body having a main fixed body portion with a plane forward face and two movable body portions which are pivotally mounted on the main body portion to pivot between a closed position in which they overlie the forward face of the main body portion and an open position. A short central channel leads from a central extruder to an extrusion die mounted in front of the forward face of the main body portion while flow channels formed between the forward face of the main body portion and the movable body portions lead from two side extruders respectively to the extrusion die. The movable body portions are moved between open and closed positions by hydraulic cylinder piston units which also hold the movable body parts in closed position during the extrusion process. Hydraulically operated clamping devices on the movable body parts releasably hold the extrusion die in position.

摘要： To extrude, for pneumatic tires, uncured tread strips composed of three different rubber or synthetic material mixtures, three extruders are used which feed to a common extruder head and are connected with the latter. The present invention utilizes the favorable flow conditions resulting from the known Y-arrangement of three extruders within the extruder head, while at the same time avoiding the previously unavoidable complex and expensive specialized construction of the extruder head. Inventively, the third extruder, which opposes the two first extruders in the withdrawal direction, is not screwed or clamped to the extruder head which is common to all three of the extruders. Rather, the third extruder is easily detachably connected via a direct metal-to-metal contact with the extruder head only by a frictional connection in a longitudinally movable arrangement.

A base film extruded by a die is coated, immediately downstream of the die mouth, by a further layer of fluid propelled from a manifold through a metering orifice. The combination of manifold and metering orifice is necessary to permit accurate control of the flow rate of the fluid and hence of the thickness of the coating, and the mouth of the die and the metering orifice must be very close so that the base film is as resistant as possible to deflection by the impact of the coating fluid, and so that contact takes place before any substantially expansion has taken place. The downstream end of the resulting multi-layer tubular film is then held closed in known fashion and the closed tube is expanded by air under pressure admitted by an opening in the die.
