    • A utility service apparatus having at least one utility segment with a conduit system having an elongated body. A coupling structure is positioned at both ends. The coupling structure at one end is attachable to the coupling structure at the other end. A plurality of utility service components extend through the elongated body.     • A conduit elbow assembly includes a hollow conduit piece having an end with an outer diameter, a body and a cap. The body has a first connective end with an end bore at the first connective end receiving the hollow conduit piece therein. A male fitting is located at the first connective end, the male fitting having an outer surface and an end which extends into the end bore. The outer surface of the male fitting has barbs which engage and retain the end of the hollow conduit piece thereon. The cap is attached to the body and has a plurality of tapered projections, of which two are diametrically opposed to each other relative to the outer diameter of the hollow conduit piece. The two tapered projections form a wedge fit with the outer diameter of the hollow conduit piece.

    • A nonmetallic conduit fitting having first and second tubular members rotatably coupled about a transverse axis of rotation allowing the fitting to be used in a straight or in angled positions. The first tubular member has a plurality of latching tabs with each latching tab having a first surface that rotatably and slidably engages a second surface on a flange extending from the second tubular member via a snap fit. The first surfaces of the latching tabs and the second surface of the flange define a plane of rotation therebetween which is substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation. In the first embodiment, the latching tabs of the first tubular member engage an inwardly extending flange on the second tubular member via a snap fit. Abutment members are provided on the inwardly extending flange for engaging the gaps between the latching tabs to selectively retain the first and second tubular members in a straight or angled position. In the second embodiment, the first tubular member includes an annular wall having a plurality of latching tabs that engage an outwardly extending flange of the second tubular member via a snap fit. An abutment member on the first tubular member engages notches formed on the peripheral surface of the outwardly extending flange for selectively retaining the first and second tubular members in a straight or angled position.

    • Illustrated and described is an arrangement for leading a cable into a housing, preferably a cylindrical housing, for electrical or electronic devices. The housing is provided with a cylindrical housing part made detachably for connection of the connection cable. The housing part is divided into two parts, the lead-in sleeve 4 and a cap 3 covering the electrical connection elements. The cap 3 is connected by means of a connection part 10 to the housing 2 in the interior of which the electronic components are accommodated. The cap 3 is supported by axial portions of the connection part 10 and withdrawable from the latter in axial direction. The arresting is done by means of a spring element 21 which engages into a groove 22 of the connection part 10. Further grooves 26 which are arranged at the periphery of the inner wall 19 of the cap 3 and into which a right parallelepipedic protrusion 27 engages prevent turning of the cap 3 with respect to the housing 2. The lead-in sleeve 4 is mounted for infinitely variable rotation in the rear wall of the cap 3. Thus, the connection cable can be introduced into the device in accordance with the requirements at the place of use in any angular position, from an axial position to a position angled at 90.degree. to the longitudinal direction of the electrical device.

    • A ball joint is disclosed to couple together elements of an electric lamp fixture. Two semi-spherical ball joint members are pivotalbly mounted about a pin so as to form a sphere. An arm portion extends from each ball joint member along its equatorial plane. Each arm draws its ball joint member into a socket having a truncated spherical surface so that semi-spherical surfaces of both semi-spherical ball joint members are drawn into sliding contact with truncated spherical surfaces of the socket. In drawing both ball joint members into the socket, the two ball joint members are urged together. The forces with which the arm portion is drawn into the socket determines frictional forces required to rotate each socket relative to the ball joint members as well as one ball joint member relative to the other ball joint member. A continuous passageway passes internally through the ball joint through which electrical wires may pass. The noval construction utilizes semi-spherical ball joint members which are identical and may be manufactured by injection molding at low cost.
