    • The invention provides a method and apparatus for searching for data in a memory. The memory includes at least two storage areas, each storage area includes at least two storage blocks, and storage blocks in each storage area are corresponding to each other. The method includes: determining whether a hit storage block that matches with data to be searched for exists in a current storage area; and if it is determined that the hit storage block exists, searching for a storage block corresponding to the hit storage block in a next storage area, so as to determine whether a hit storage block further exists. Accordingly, a storage block corresponding to a missed storage block may execute no operation, thus reducing power consumption.

    • A method and a system for searching images with figures and a recording medium storing metadata of image are provided. The searching method is divided into an image analysis stage and an image search stage. In the image analysis stage, figures between images are compared with each other and assigned with an identity respectively. A representative image of each identity is then evaluated from the image collection. In the image search stage, the representative images are displayed for user to select some of them as a searching criterion, so as to search and display the images matching the searching criterion in the image collection. Accordingly, the images required by user can be found through intelligent analysis of figures, intuitive definition of searching criterion, and simple comparison of identities so that both time and effort of organization for searching images with figures can be substantially saved.

    • The present invention relates to a sensor network managing apparatus and a method thereof. The sensor network managing apparatus according to the present invention receives a query that includes a spatial join predicate for searching for target sensor nodes and a comparison predicate that is different for each sensor network, and generates query execution order information for searching for the target sensor nodes based on the spatial join predicate and the comparison predicate, wherein the spatial join predicate is related to a spatial location between sensor nodes respectively included in different sensor networks, and the comparison predicate are related to sensing values of sensor nodes of the sensor networks. In addition, the sensor node managing apparatus executes queries for the spatial join predicate and the comparison predicate on the plurality of sensor nodes on the basis of determined query execution order, and then extracts target sensor nodes as the query results. According to the present invention, an efficient method for searching for user-desired sensor nodes in more than two different sensor networks can be provided.

    • A system for controlling multiple processors, each of which controls a group of hardware devices. Each processor is equipped with storage space for a database. A single, shared, database circulates among the processors, and only a single processor receives the database at any given time. All processors are idle with respect to the database, except when the database arrives. Upon arrival, the receiving processor (1) loads the fresh copy of the circulating database into memory, (2) updates the database with current values from its inputs, (3) using the database as input, performs computation, (4) produces output which is used to both (a) control its hardware and (b) add data to the database, (5) transfers the modified database to the next processor, and (6) becomes inactive with respect to the database. This sequence is repeated by all processors. While not actively working with the database, the processors are free to perform other tasks.
