    • An airflow detection apparatus includes an enclosure defining a through hole therein, a conductive pole received in the through hole of the enclosure, a first conductive board electrically connected to a first end of the conductive pole and an electrode of a power source, and a second conductive board electrically connected to the other electrode of the power source. The first and second conductive boards are respectively attached to a top end and a bottom plate of the enclosure. The second conductive board defines a through hole therein to make an end of the conductive pole to pass therethrough, and a diameter of the through hole of the second conductive board is greater than that of the conductive pole. When the conductive pole is driven by an airflow, it will swing to contact with a side bounding the through hole of the second conductive board.

    • A MEMS module that contains at least one integrated energy storage device whose discharge is minimized and controlled, so that power is available for system operation over longer periods of time. The MEMS module includes a device electrically coupled to the energy storage device for controlling charge transfers from the energy storage device while preventing charge leakage from the energy storage device. The controlling device includes a plurality of integrated MEMS switches that define open electrical paths that prevent charge leakage from the energy storage device through the MEMS switches, and are then operable to define closed electrical paths to allow charge transfers from the energy storage device, and preferably also allow charge transfers to the energy storage device, through the MEMS switches. The charge transfer can be utilized to power electronic circuits or store data in non-volatile digital memory.

    • A pneumatic switch includes a housing which presents external contacts spaced apart to engage a component site on a device such as a circuit board. A pair of components are supported on the switch housing. A flexure mounted armature or vane is biased in one direction to electrically connect one of the pair of mounted components serially between the housing external contacts, while an air flow to the switch displaces the vane to electrically connect the other of the pair of components in series between the external contacts. The electrical leads between each of the pair of components and the external contacts are of equal length. The switch external contacts may also engage the terminals of a component at a circuit site to insert the mounted components alternatively in parallel with the existing component.

    • A pressure switch includes a switch housing which has an accommodation bore extending inward from one end of the switch housing, and a slide bore extending between the accommodation bore and the other end of the switch housing. A piston is slidably disposed within the slide bore and is adapted to receive a pressure. A terminal serving as one electric contact is fixed to the accommodation bore via a holding ring made of an insulating material. A disk spring serving as the other electric contact is disposed between the piston and the terminal. The disk spring deforms due to a pressing force of the piston and comes in contact with the terminal. The pressure switch further comprises an annular elastic ring placed on the outer end of the holding ring. An end portion of the switch housing is deformed inward so as to elastically deform the elastic ring, thereby sealing the opening portion of the accommodation bore. The switch housing has a cylindrical portion which has a cylindrical outer shape and into which the holding ring is press-fit, a threaded portion for attachment of the switch housing, and a polygonal tightening portion which is formed between the cylindrical portion and the threaded portion and is used to tighten the switch housing.
