    • A method for high speed spin winding a coil on a continuous lamination core. A two piece or hinged bobbin having two flanges is placed around a leg of the transformer core and snapped together. Both flanges include an outwardly facing surface which defines a concentric groove. One flange includes passages for receiving printed circuit board terminating pins which are installed prior to winding the coil. The other flange has a circumferential gear located in its outwardly facing surface. The core with bobbin and terminating pins installed is placed into a spin winding fixture. A bobbin bearing having a bearing surface including a circumferential ridge is placed adjacent the outwardly facing surfaces of the two flanges such that the circumferential ridges are partially received within the concentric grooves of the outwardly facing surfaces of the two flanges. A wire feeder terminates the leading end of the coil wire on one of the terminating pins. A drive gear engages the circumferential gear on the flange and rotates the bobbin at high speed drawing wire from the wire feeder. The wire feeder moves back and forth between the two flanges to uniformly wind the coil wire on the bobbin. The wire feeder terminates the trailing end of the coil wire on the other terminating pin and then cut the wire off. The terminating pins are pressed further into the flange until the desired length for printed circuit board connection extends outwardly from the opposite side of the flange.

    • A coil former includes an opening and two winding chambers. Flanges are formed on opposing ends of the winding body and extend in planes transverse to a longitudinal axis of the opening. Connecting ledges are formed on at least one of the flanges and receive soldering terminals arranged side-by-side in a row. The soldering terminals receive winding wires wound about the winding body. The soldering terminals are cylindrical pins which are embedded in bases. The pins extend vertically from the bases and in a plane perpendicular to a longitudinal axis. The bases are spaced apart from one another, with each base tapering on a side facing an associated pin. Reinforcing ribs are formed on a side of the connecting ledge facing the opening.

    • The electromagnetic clutch 1 includes a driven shaft 3, an armature assembly 4, a rotor and a coil assembly. The armature assembly 4 is mounted on the driven shaft 3. The rotor 7 is driven by a belt that engages the poly V-groove 7d. The coil assembly is supported in a groove 7a in the rotor. When the coil assembly is energized the armature 17 of the armature assembly 4 is pulled axially into contact with the rotor 7 and torque is transmitted from the rotor to the driven shaft 3. The coil assembly includes a magnetizing coil 21 enclosed in a bobbin 19 and a cover 20 and secured in a yoke 18. The bobbin 19 includes a terminal holder 19j. A terminal holder 19j receives a terminal assembly 23 and is held in position by a terminal housing 28. The terminal assembly 23 includes two terminals 24 connected by a diode 25. The diode 25 and a portion of each terminal is embedded in an enclosing member 27.

    • A coil body for electrical coils includes a solder terminal strip applied to the coil body flange which has solder eye terminals arranged in a row. One end of the solder eye terminals are in the form of solder eyes for wrapping and winding wire ends of thin wires or for holding the ends of thick wires, and the other end of the solder eye terminals are pins for emplacement into printed circuit boards.
