    • A machine may be configured as a vehicle identification machine to identify a model of a vehicle based on an image that depicts a dashboard of the vehicle. As configured, the machine may receive an image of the dashboard, where the image depicts a layout of instrumentation within the dashboard. The machine may identify the layout of instrumentation by processing the image. For example, the machine may process the image by determining a position of an instrument within the layout of instrumentation, determining an outline of instrument, or both. The machine may access a data record that correlates a model of the vehicle with the identified layout of instrumentation and, based on the data record, identify the model of the vehicle. The machine may then provide a notification that references the vehicle, references the identified model of the vehicle, or references both.

    • A system for automatically relating the changing information posted on an electronic display 10a, in regard to some ongoing event, to the recorded information, such as video, captured and corresponding to that same ongoing event. Posted information is remotely detected using master camera 50a that is aligned to capture images 12 of electronic display 10a during the event. Current images 12c are subtracted from base image 12b to yield difference image 12fr revealing one or more areas of potential electronic display 10a changes that are pre-calibrated into cells, such as game clock 12-1, which are further calibrated into characters, such as 12-1-1 for the “tens” digit through 12-1-4 for the “hundredths” digit. Using pattern matching algorithms well understood in the art, all changes to any character and therefore any cell are automatically detected and translated into digital information relatable by time to any recordings of the event, such as a video stream.

    • Computer implemented methods for monitoring use of a computer and related systems and compositions of matter are disclosed herein. In various aspects, the methods may include the steps of associating an identified user with a computer, and capturing an image of a monitored region of a computer screen of the computer at a specified time. The methods include the steps of extracting image text from the image, determining image text content of the image text, and capturing a subsequent image of the monitored region of the computer screen of the computer at a subsequent time-subsequent to the specified time, in various aspects. A time difference between the specified time and the subsequent time is dependent upon image text content of the image text, in various aspects. The identified user does not control the associating step, the capturing step, the extracting step, the determining step, and the capturing a subsequent image step, in various aspects. This Abstract is presented to meet requirements of 37 C.F.R. §1.72(b) only. This Abstract is not intended to identify key elements of the methods, systems, and compositions of matter disclosed herein or to delineate the scope thereof.

    • A liquid level detection method includes capturing an image of a liquid surface, a structural surface, and graduation markings provided on the structural surface using an image-capturing device to thereby obtain an initial image. Subsequently, the initial image is processed so as to generate a processed image, and a level reference value of the liquid surface is obtained from the processed image. The level reference value represents a height of the liquid surface in terms of inherent characteristics of the processed image. Lastly, a liquid level of the liquid surface is calculated based on a relative proportional relation among the level reference value, an overall height of the processed image in terms of the inherent characteristics of the processed image, and dimensions of any one of the initial and processed images relative to the graduation markings.
