    • A clutch mechanism for a vehicle seat is provided. The clutch mechanism includes a pressure-receiving member rotatably assembled to a frame of a seatback of the vehicle seat, a connecting arm having a weight and a pin, and provided rotatably to the pressure-receiving member, and a swinging member provided rotatably to the frame, and including a rib which is formed with a cutout capable of receiving the pin. While inertia force occurring due to a crash of a vehicle from behind acts on the weight, when the pressure-receiving member rotates upon receipt of a seatback load of a passenger of the vehicle seat, the connecting arm moves along with the rotation of the pressure-receiving member so that the pin of the connecting arm pushes either one of an edge of the rib and a cutout of the rib while entering the cutout, to rotate the swinging member.

    • A vehicle seat is provided with an active headrest, in which the thickness of the vehicle seat can be further decreased. A vehicle seat includes a transmission assembly for transmitting a load received by a pressure receiving part to the headrest side, and has a mechanism for moving the headrest when a rear end collision occurs. The transmission means is configured so as to have a lower link that is movably installed in the lower part of the seat back frame of the vehicle seat and is connected to the pressure receiving part; an upper link that is disposed in the upper part of the seat back frame and is movably connected with the headrest; and a connecting link that connects the lower link and the upper link to each other and is operated in association with the operation of the lower link. The connecting link has a bent part bent along the lengthwise direction in the direction such as to separate from the backrest surface of the seat back.

    • There is provided a head rest moving mechanism of moving a support portion of a head rest relative to a seat back when a vehicle is subjected to a back collision. The head rest moving mechanism moves the support portion from an initial position to a collision corresponding position in a front upper direction. The support portion draws a locus of moving to an upper side while an upper portion thereof is inclining to rise to a front side, successively, moving to the upper side by rising to return to an attitude thereof when the support portion is disposed at an initial position while maintaining a collision point of the support portion and the head. The head rest moving mechanism includes a base installed at an upper portion of the seat back, link means for linking the support portion and the base, an engaging pin moved integrally with the support portion for operating an attitude of the support portion in accordance with a relative movement thereof, and a guide path slidably engaged with the engaging pin for guiding to slide the engaging pin in accordance with the relative movement of the support portion. The guide path is a long hole formed at a side face portion of the base. The link means is pivotable centering on a position thereof axially supported by the base. When the vehicle is subjected to back collision, the link means is pivoted from a lower side in the front upper direction by drawing a locus in a shape of a circular arc bent to the lower side. On the other hand, the guide path is formed in a shape of a circular arc bent to the upper side extended from the initial position in the front upper direction.
