    • A capacitor discharge type ignition system for an internal combustion engine capable of rendering rising of a secondary voltage rapid, prolonging a duration of a secondary discharge current, and preventing a reduction in output of an engine by incomplete combustion due to a decrease in concentration of fuel. A switching element which is rendered forcibly non-conductive such as an FET 6 is used as a discharge switch for carrying out discharge of an ignition energy accumulating capacitor 2. When an ignition signal Vi for determining each of ignition timings is generated, the FET is fed a trigger signal Vt to render the FET turned on, to thereby charges in the capacitor to be discharged through the FET to a primary winding 1a of an ignition coil 1. When the discharge current reaches a set value, the trigger signal is caused to be zero to render the FET turned off to interrupt discharge of the capacitor. Then, when a certain period of time elapses, the FET is fed with the trigger signal to restart discharge of the capacitor.

    • Depth information generating section generates depth image information representing the class of the depth of each pixel in two-dimensional image information outputted from an image input section, according to depth information outputted from an input section. A stereoscopic image information generating section generates stereoscopic image information, based on the depth image information and the two-dimensional image information. Thereafter, an image for the left eye and an image for the right eye read by an image information output section are alternately displayed on the screen of an image display section under the control of a gate. In synchronization with the change-over operation of alternately displaying the image for the left eye and the image for the right eye, the stereoscopic section controls the opening and closing of liquid crystal shutters of liquid crystal shutter glasses. A stereoscopic image information correcting section corrects stereoscopic image information in response to image drawing information transmitted from the input section. Thus, a stereoscopic image can be easily generated based on the two-dimensional image information.

    • A cylindrical support portion is provided on a wafer pump case to surround a rotary shaft, and a cylindrically formed power transmitting rotary wheel surrounding the support portion is integrally coupled to an outer end of the rotary shaft which protrudes outwardly from the support portion. The water pump structure not only improves the sealing property of the sealing members by providing the sealing members at a location in which the deflection of the rotary shaft is smallest, but also increases the retaining property for the grease between the plurality of sealing members. This enhances water resistance of the bearing means. Moreover, in spite of the provision of the plurality of sealing members and the bearing means, the water pump structure avoids an undesirable increase in size and remains relatively compact.

    • A composite video signal is supplied to chrominance and luminance signal separators. A chrominance signal is compared by a phase comparator with an average phase signal, and a difference between them is supplied to a control terminal of a phase modulator. The chrominance signal is input to the phase modulator. The phase averaging circuit, phase comparator, and phase modulator together constitute a hue emphasizing circuit. An output from the hue emphasizing circuit (output from phase modulator) is supplied to a mixer via a gain control amplifier (GCA). The chrominance signal is input to a level detector, where it is envelope-detected. An output from the level detector is supplied to a gain control terminal of the GCA. An output from the GCA emphasizing circuit (output from GCA ) is a hue- and saturation-emphasized chrominance signal, and is supplied to the first input terminal of the mixer. A luminance signal is input to a phase shifter via a mixer. A hue-emphasized chrominance signal which is output from the phase comparator is subjected to quadratic differentiation by a differential circuit, and is input as a gain control input to a mixer. The last mentioned mixer, differential circuit, and phase shifter together constitute an aperature compensator. The shift amount is set in the phase shifter, so as to compensate for a difference between the chrominance and luminance signals generated from the hue emphasizing circuit and the aperture compensator, respectively.

A tracking error is detected by a wobbling method in which the light spot is vibrated in accordance with a position modulating signal having a given frequency, an amplitude modulated component due to a positional modulation is derived from a reproduced RF signal by passing an envelope signal of the reproduced signal through a band pass filter having a center frequency equal to the frequency of the position modulating signal, a sampling pulse is produced in synchronism with the position modulating signal and the amplitude modulated signal is sampled by the sampling pulse to derive a tracking error. A phase difference between the amplitude modulating signal and the sampling pulse is detected and a phase of the sampling pulse is modulated in accordance with the detected phase difference in such a manner that the amplitude modulated component can be always sampled at its peak points.
