    • A vehicular image processing apparatus and related method are disclosed as having a high speed camera 2 that picks up an image of a surrounding of a vehicle, a low speed image extracting unit 6 extracting an image calculated with a low speed area calculating unit 4, a high speed image extracting unit 5 extracting other image than that calculated with the low speed area calculating unit 4, and an image outputting unit 9 synthesizing image information extracted with the high image extracting unit 5 and image information related to the image of the low speed area to provide an output which is applied to an image recognition device 11 to detect an obstacle around the vehicle or a road shape. A frame rate adjusting unit 8 enables the output image of the low speed image extracting unit 6 to be applied to the image outputting unit 9.

    • An image forming apparatus includes a movable image bearing member, a charger means including a charge member for electrically charging the image bearing member with electroconductive particles between the charge member and the image bearing member and a developing member for developing a latent image with toner mixed with electroconductive particles. The latent image is formed on the image bearing member having been charged by the charging means, and a toner image provided by development of the latent image by the developing member is transferred onto a recording material. The electroconductive particles mixed in the toner is carried by the image bearing member and are fed to between the charge member and the image bearing member. The width A, measured in a direction perpendicular to a moving direction of the image bearing member, in which the electroconductive particle are present between the charge member and the image bearing member, a width B in which the developing means is capable of effecting development, and a recording width C of a maximum size recording material, satisfy: A>B≧C.

    • Method and apparatus for displaying a horizontal screen separator line between two screen areas. A first step operates a display screen controller (12) in a split screen mode of operation so as to display a first screen area (3) at an upper portion of a display screen (18) and a second screen area (4) at a lower portion of the display screen. The step of operating further includes a step of reading data from a screen memory (42) and displaying rows of corresponding alphanumeric characters. Each character is displayed as a plurality of image pixels arranged along a first number of horizontal scan lines. A further step displays a horizontal visual separator (2) between a last row of the first screen area and a first row of the second screen area. The step of displaying the horizontal visual separator includes the steps of (a) reading data from the screen memory and beginning a display of a row of corresponding visual separator characters; and (b) terminating the display of the row of corresponding visual separator characters after displaying a second number of horizontal scan lines that is less than the first number of horizontal scan lines.
