摘要： An imaging member having a charge transport layer is provided. The charge transport layer includes a plurality of charge transport layers coated from solutions of similar or different compositions or concentrations, wherein the upper or additional transport layer(s) comprise a lower concentration of charge transport compound than the first (bottom) charge transport layer. The charge transport compound included in the first (bottom) charge transport layer may either be the same or different from that included in the additional charge transport layers. The charge transport compound in one or more of the layers is dissolved or molecularly dispersed in an electrically inactive polymer material to form a solid solution. In such a construction, the resulting charge transport layer exhibits enhanced cracking suppression, improves wear resistance, provides excellent imaging member electrical performance, and delivers improved print quality.

Preferably, the flexible electrophotographic imaging member is free of an anticurl backing layer, the imaging member including a supporting substrate uncoated on one side and coated on the opposite side with at least a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer containing hole transporting material dissolved or molecularly dispersed in a film forming binder and coated from a mixture of solvents containing a low boiling point solvent and a small concentration of high boiling point solvent.

摘要： A photosensitive member having at least two electrically operative layers is disclosed. The first layer comprises an electrically conductive layer. The second layer comprises a charge transport layer. The third layer is a photoconductive layer contiguous with the transport layer. The photoconductive layer is capable of photogenerating and injecting photogenerated holes into the contiguous or adjacent electrically active part. The electrically active material comprises a polycarbonate resin material having dispersed therein from about 25 to 75 percent by weight of one or more compounds having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group having from 1 to about 4 carbon atoms (e.g. methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl, etc.) and chlorine in the ortho, meta or para position. This structure may be imaged in the conventional xerographic mode which usually includes charging, exposure to light and development.
