    • This invention relates to a method of correcting astigmatism in scanning electron microscopes and similar equipment which insures accurate correction of astigmatism simply by matching an astigmatism-correcting image, appearing on part of a Braun tube screen, to a predetermined point (such as a mark) on the screen, instead of depending on skill and perception. The apparatus for correcting astigmatism in scanning electron microscopes and similar equipment according to this invention provides a simple structure to implement the above astigmatism correcting method, connecting the X direction astigmatism correcting system through a first switch to one of the horizontal and vertical scanning systems and the Y direction astigmatism correcting system through the second switch to the other thereof.

The steering shaft is joined to the transom bracket, and is turnable around a steering axis extending in an up-down direction. The outboard motor is joined to the steering shaft, turnable around a tilt axis, and turnable around the steering axis together with the steering shaft. The tilt mechanism is arranged to turn the outboard motor around the tilt axis with respect to the steering shaft. The steering mechanism includes a power conversion mechanism arranged to convert power of the electric motor into turning of the steering shaft around the steering axis.

    • The objective of this invention is to provide a circuit that generates a spread frequency spectrum waveform with shaped frequency spectrum distribution. The waveform generator has a spread spectrum waveform generating circuit that generates a waveform with a spread spectrum and frequency spectrum distribution shaping circuit that shapes the frequency spectrum distribution of the spread spectrum waveform. In one embodiment, distribution shaping circuit can perform shaping such that the spread spectrum waveform has a frequency spectrum distribution having a spectrum reducing part in at least one band. Also, in one embodiment, the frequency of the spread spectrum waveform can vary periodically or nonperiodically.
