    • An endoscope having a conduit-providing flexible tube and a device for connecting said flexible tube, said device comprising a coupling member that is provided on the outer circumference with a first tapered portion the outside diameter of which decreases toward at least one end of said coupling member and that has a conduit in the interior, an annular retaining member that is fitted over the outer circumference of one end portion of said flexible tube which is to be fitted over said first tapered portion and that has on the inner circumference a second tapered portion the inside diameter of which decreases toward said at least one end in such a way as to provide engagement with said first tapered portion, and a clamp member that depresses said retaining member in the axial direction in which said first tapered portion flares, thereby depressing said flexible tube to be secured to said coupling member, characterized by further having an urging and covering member that not only covers the outer circumferential portion of said flexible tube that has been fitted into said coupling member at the end portion coupled to said flexible tube but also urges said flexible tube to be secured to said first tapered portion.

    • A moving vane type compressor has a cylinder which is made of a sintered material having a density of 6.6 to 7.6 and a composition consisting essentially of 0.6 to 0.8% of carbon, 1 to 2% of copper and the balance substantially iron. The cylinder is encased by a hermetic casing therebetween a high pressure chamber into which a refrigerant compressed by the compressor is discharged. Lubricating oil separated from the discharged refrigerant within the high pressure chamber and the lubricating oil suspended in the form of a mist by the refrigerant attach to the outer peripheral surface of the wall of the cylinder made of the sintered material. The oil attaching to the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder is forced by the refrigerant pressure acting thereon into the pores of the sintered material such as to block these pores, thus preventing the compressed gas in the cylinder from leaking outside through the pores.

    • A power-supply circuit includes: a rectification circuit to output a rectified voltage obtained by rectifying an AC voltage; an inductor to be applied with the rectified voltage;a transistor to increase an inductor current when turned on; a diode to output the inductor current when the transistor is turned off; a capacitor to generate a DC voltage; a detection circuit to detect the inductor current; and a switching control circuit to perform switching of the transistor, when the detected current is smaller than a reference current, and stop switching of the transistor when the detected current is larger than the reference current, the target level corresponding to a level at which the diode is turned on when the rectified voltage rises, when the diode is turned on, the inductor and the capacitor respectively having inductance and capacitance values for allowing the inductor current larger than the reference current to flow.
