    • A routing address management method providing a rapid update of an address learning table in each routing node is disclosed. When a routing node determines that a new host is connected to a network thereof, an address learning table thereof is updated and thereafter an update notifying message including the new address information is sent to a routing server. The routing server in response to the update notifying message sends an update request message to the routing nodes other than the routing node. The routing nodes other than the routing node updates address learning tables thereof depending on the new address information included in the update request message.

    • An internal combustion engine having a direct cylinder injection and including a variable valve timing mechanism for at least changing the time of closing of the intake valve. The fuel injection timing and intake valve closing timing are controlled so that under low and mid-range engine speeds, but high loads, the intake valve is closed before the piston reaches bottom dead center position on its intake stroke so as to reduce the effective compression ratio. The engine is provided with an injector location and piston with a bowl in its head that improves fuel stratification under at least some running conditions so as to permit lean burn operation. The intake valves are offset to one side of a plane containing the axis of the cylinder bore, and the fuel injector is disposed between a pair of intake ports and below them so as to direct its injection axis toward the exhaust side and toward the recess in the head of the piston. The fuel injector is positioned in a relationship that permits a compact construction and nevertheless permits cooling of the injector. In addition, the injector sprays into the cylinder head in an area wherein the cylinder head clamping arrangement will not be compromised nor will the strength of the cylinder head.

    • An absorption refrigerating machines-group apparatus that can be installed at reduced cost and prevent the occurrence of abnormal situations due to the unexpected suspension of the operation of a cooling water pump is provided. The absorption refrigerating machines-group apparatus according to the invention comprises a control panel 200 for issuing control signals, an adapter 300 having a control section 310 for relaying control signals and absorption refrigerating machines 100A, 100B, 100C having respective control sections 80, said control sections 310 and 80 being connected by a telecommunications line L51. When a signal for suspending the operation of the shared cooling water pump is relayed, the currently operating absorption refrigerating machines are brought into a temporary state that allows the operation of the cooling water pump P2 to be suspended through an exchange of signals between the control sections 310 and 80. After obtaining a "pump suspension signal" from each and every one of the absorption refrigerating machines, the control section 310 suspends the operation of the cooling water pump P2. The control section 310 can also suspend the operation of the cooling water pump P2 by seeing the signal representing the operation of the value-setting section 330 and determining if the pump sharing arrangement or the individual pump arrangement is currently selected.
