    • Disclosed herein are a poly(arylene thioether-ketone) copolymer comprising (A) at least one poly(arylene thioether-ketone) segment having predominant recurring units of the formula ##STR1## wherein the --CO-- and --S-- are in the para position to each other, and (B) at least one poly(arylene thioether) segment having predominant recurring units of the formula ##STR2## (a) the ratio of the total amount of the poly(arylene thioether) segment (B) to the total amount of the poly(arylene thioether-ketone) segment (A) ranging from 0.05 to 5 by weight, (b) the number-average polymerization degree of the poly(arylene thioether) segment (B) being higher than 1 but lower than 10, and (c) said copolymer having a melt viscosity of 2-100,000 poises as measured at 350.degree. C. and a shear rate of 1,200/sec as well as a production process of the poly(arylene thioether-ketone) copolymer.

    • In order to carry out commercial synchronous exchange for disconnecting an induction motor from its driving power supply and connecting it to a variable frequency power supply, or commercial synchronous switching for disconnecting the induction motor from the variable frequency power supply and connecting it to a commercial power supply, without any accompanying adverse shock, an induction-motor vector control technique is utilized. A phase-locked loop (PLL) is formed to detect the difference in phase between the output voltage from the variable frequency power supply or the magnetic flux phase of the induction motor on the one hand, and the phase of the power supply voltage on the other, so that the difference in phase thus detected can be maintained at a predetermined value.

    • A machining center having an upright boxlike housing which projects upwardly adjacent the rear side of the table through a substantial vertical extent. The housing defines an interior chamber therein in which is positioned a movable support for mounting a plurality of tools. This housing has a pair of sidewalls which, at their front edges, have forwardly projecting protrusions which overhang the table. A slide is mounted on the upper surfaces of the housing and is movable horizontally in perpendicular relationship to the table movement. This slide, on the front end thereof, mounts a tool spindle head for displacement along a vertical axis. The front wall of the boxlike housing has an opening which extends therethrough and projects vertically up through the top wall thereof, so that rearward slidable displacement of the slide permits the spindle head to be moved rearwardly into the interior chamber to provide access to the stored tools.
