The evaluation means evaluates the reproduction signal when the reproducing means reproduces the information pre-recorded on the film, and the control means sets the recording condition of the recording means in conformity with the result of the evaluation.

摘要： The camera of the present invention includes means for recording and reproducing information regarding the photographed frames of film, means for applying onto the cartridge of a film unit discriminative information indicative of whether the reading-out of the information regarding photographed frames is necessary, means for detecting the discriminative information, and means for controlling whether the reading out of the information regarding photographed frames should be effected in conformity with the result of the detection. Thus, when the camera is loaded with a film unit which does not require the reading-out of the information regarding photographed frames, like a new film unit which has never been loaded into a camera, the operation of reading out the information regarding photographed frames is saved.

摘要： A camera is capable of displacing a phototaking optical system in the direction of the optical axis by a drive source such as motor and setting the optical system to a plurality of positions. The camera includes a photo-taking optical system, photographing position setting means producing a command signal, a drive source, position detecting means outputting a position signal corresponding to the position of the photo-taking optical system, discriminating means for discriminating the direction of movement of the phototaking optical system, and control means for stopping the drive source and setting the photo-taking optical system at a position corresponding to the command signal as soon as the position indicated by the position signal coincides with the position indicated by the command signal when the discriminating means is discriminating a predetermined first direction of movement, stopping the drive source at a position beyond the position indicated by the command signal and then driving the drive source so that the photo-taking optical system is moved in the first direction when the disciminating means is discriminating a second direction of movement differing from the first direction of movement, and stopping the drive source and setting the photo-taking optical system at the position corresponding to the command signal as soon as the position indicated by the position signal coincides with the position indicated by the command signal.
