    • A configurable base is formed from a plurality of interlocking tiles that may fit within a frame. Anchoring tiles have receptacles for accepting anchors. Smooth panels support heavy items. Accessories are formed to either attach to the anchor or integrally with the anchor. Accessories include tie downs, sidewalls, cross frame and stanchions, and wheel-chocks. The anchor fits into the receptacles for placement anywhere desired on the base. An embodiment of the anchor has a lock for added security. A coupler provides at least one aperture for securing items, preferably positioned on the frame. An alternative configurable bed is formed by orthogonal cross members arranged within a frame. Open spaces between the orthogonal cross members accept anchors. Another alternative configurable bed is formed from a single tile having a plurality of receptacles. A method of configuring a cargo management system allows a dealer employee to compare customer needs to established footprints, alter the footprint design if needed, and generate a cost estimate for the configuration.

    • The invention is directed to a suture clip with stop ribs and method for making same. The clip includes a housing having an outer surface, and a pair of jaws extending longitudinally from the housing in an opposing relationship to each other. A resilient pad is carried by one of the jaws and defines with the outer surface of the housing a shutoff cavity. At least one rib extends longitudinally of the housing and across the cavity to inhibit any undesirable passage of the suture into the cavity. In another aspect, the surgical clip includes a housing with an inner member and an outer member having a telescoping relationship. A first jaw extends from the inner member outwardly of the housing and has a first inner surface. A second jaw extends from the outer member outwardly of the housing and has a second inner surface. At least one first rib extends from the first inner surface toward the second inner surface, and at least one second rib extends from the second inner surface toward the first inner surface. These ribs have a non-interfering relationship when the jaws are in the closed position. In another aspect, the invention includes a method for making a surgical clip having a housing formed of telescoping members each with an outer surface. First and second opposing jaws are associated with the telescoping members, one of which is molded with its associated jaw in a first mold. During the first molding step, at least one rib is molded onto the first jaw to extend from the outer surface of the associated member along the first jaw. During the second molding step, a mold shutoff is seated against the first jaw and the at least one rib to form a mold cavity for a pad that was molded onto the first jaw.

    • A body for a refuse collection vehicle includes a frame on which are mounted a hopper compartment and an adjacent storage compartment. The hopper compartment has a pair of opposing sidewalls, a closed forward end, an open rear end and a hopper compartment floor at a first level. The storage compartment also has a forward end that opens into the hopper compartment, a rear end having a tailgate mounted thereon, and a storage compartment floor at a second level. The second level is raised above, or at an elevation higher than, the first level. The refuse collection vehicle body also includes a transition floor between the hopper compartment floor at the first level and the storage compartment floor at the second level, and a crusher panel that is adapted to apply a downwardly directed compressive force to refuse material in the hopper compartment and to sweep said refuse material from the hopper compartment into the storage compartment. The vehicle body also includes means for removing refuse material from the storage compartment.

    • A surgical access device includes a single valve that forms a seal with a body wall and provides an access channel into a body cavity. The valve has properties for creating a zero seal in the absence of an instrument as well as an instrument seal for an instrument having a diameter up to about 37 mm. The valve can include a gel material and the access channel can include a protective sleeve to provide for wound protection during insertion and withdrawal of a sharp surgical instrument. The valve further comprises a cap ring which may be inserted or molded with the gel material. The protective sleeve may be bonded or molded around an inner diameter of the cap ring. The protective sleeve may be a single tubular member, or may comprise a plurality of axially extending sleeve members having a plurality of axial slits. The protective sleeve and the cap ring may comprise of the same or different materials. The surgical access device further comprises at least one support ring disposed circumferentially of the valve forming a hollow space, and a wound retractor operatively placed in the hollow space. The wound retractor includes an inner ring, an outer ring, and a flexible sleeve connecting the inner ring and the outer ring.
