摘要： A linear compressor has a hollow piston with crown and sidewall. The piston reciprocates in a cylinder. A piston rod connects the piston to a spring. A connection between the piston rod and the piston transmits axial forces directly to the piston crown. The connection transmits lateral forces to the piston at an axial location away from the piston crown. The connection allows rotational flexibility between the piston and the piston rod transverse to and uniformly around the piston reciprocation axis. Other improvements in or relating to linear compressors are disclosed and claimed.

The apparatus includes a powered electrode assembly, which includes a powered electrode, a first dielectric layer, and a first wire mesh disposed between the powered electrode and the first dielectric layer. The apparatus also includes a grounded electrode assembly disposed opposite the powered electrode assembly so as to form a cavity wherein the plasma is generated. The first wire mesh is shielded from the plasma by the first dielectric layer when the plasma is present in the cavity, which has an outlet at one end for providing the plasma to remove the fluorinated polymer.

摘要： A free piston gas compressor has a cylinder, a piston, the piston reciprocable within the cylinder in alternating compression and expansion strokes. A reciprocating linear electric motor is drivably coupled to the piston. A controller is programmed to control or adjust power input to the linear motor on the basis of a relationship including at least one of the present compression stroke or expansion stroke durations, the relationship being indicative of the top dead centre (TDC) position of the piston, including in the absence of any collision. In the preferred embodiment the controller obtains a measure reflecting the difference between the compression stroke duration and the expansion stroke duration and adjusts the power input in response to the obtained measure.

摘要： A protective disk for protecting a semiconductor wafer during processing includes an adhesive layer configured to adhere to the semiconductor wafer and a support layer coupled to the adhesive layer configured to provide strength and stiffness to the semiconductor wafer during processing. In one aspect of the invention, the protective disk is soluble in a mildly alkaline or mildly acidic solution. In another aspect, the adhesive layer comprises a high molecular weight polymer. In another aspect, the support layer comprises a polymer and a filler. The present invention may enable a robust, cost-effective, high-volume, automated process for thinning semiconductor wafers below 150 μm, and for subsequent process steps of stress relief and transfer to a dicing frame for die singulation. Additionally, the invention enables use of existing toolsets and processes to produce thinner substrates than conventionally achievable.

摘要： A planarized conductive material is formed over a substrate including narrow and wide features. The conductive material is formed through a succession of deposition processes. A first deposition process forms a first layer of the conductive material that fills the narrow features and at least partially fills the wide features. A second deposition process forms a second layer of the conductive material within cavities in the first layer. A flexible material can reduce a thickness of the first layer above the substrate while delivering a solution to the cavities to form the second layer therein. The flexible material can be a porous membrane attached to a pressurizable reservoir filled with the solution. The flexible material can also be a poromeric material wetted with the solution.
