    • An ultrasonic sensor consists of an ultrasonic transducer and a casing. The transducer includes a metal-made housing having an inner space; a vibrating planar member formed in the housing, wherein an outward surface of the vibrating planar member constitutes an outward surface of the housing and an inward surface of the vibrating planar member faces the inner space; and a driving element attached on an inward surface of the vibrating planar member for vibrating the vibrating planar member. This ultrasonic transducer is assembled within the casing and attached to a vehicle via the casing with the outward surface of the vibrating planar member exposed outwardly. Further, a resin film is attached using an adhesive member applied on a rear surface of the film to cover all the outward surface of the vibrating planner member.

    • A slot receiving synchronous circuit includes a temporary storage register for temporarily storing receiving slot data having an m-bit fixed length, where m is an integer, a detector for detecting whether the m-bit receiving slot data stored in the temporary storage register has a predetermined pattern, a slot counter circuit, initialized by the detection signal outputted by the detector, for synchronizing the receiving slot data, and a bit counter circuit for counting bit clocks inputted thereto in synchronization with each bit input of the receiving slot data, to provide a count value, and for supplying signals, when the count value reaches a predetermined value, to the slot counter circuit such that the slot counter circuit counts the signals. The slot counter circuit and the bit counter circuit are set to their initial values, respectively, by the detection signal.

    • An information processing equipment providing easy operations of changing-over character species, and, in which characters can be entered without being conscious of the designation of a character mode. Signals entered from an input device are handled in conformity with all of a romaji (Roman character) input system, a kana (Japanese syllabary) input system and an alphanumeric input system. Results obtained with the respective input systems are all displayed in the predetermined part of a display screen. In the equipment, the character mode intended by a user is estimated as to the entered character string, and is automatically selected. In another aspect of performance, a controller determines whether or not a character mode likelihood decision unit and a character code translation unit are started, in accordance with the results of the comparisons between the key code string and the registered contents of a learning information buffer. The position of the entered key code string as corresponds to the length of the longest one of the key code strings is detected as a boundary position, the entered key code string is translated into character codes with the unit of the translation being a key code string which extends up to the detected boundary position, and the translated character codes are displayed.
