    • This invention relates to methods and reagents for the assay, detection, quantification, location, or analysis of each of a plurality of substances of interest (“analytes”) in a sample in which each substance is labeled with a cationic triarylphosphonium group. The present invention also provides MALDI mass spectrometry techniques in which the analysis of samples containing low molecule weight analytes is not obscured by matrix components. The invention also provides labeling reagents for use in labeling analytes prior to MS analysis in which the labeled analytes have a molecular weight above the useful detection threshold of MALDI techniques. In some aspects, the invention provides methods of quantitative MS analysis of components of a sample. Methods of the present invention include sensitive techniques for desorption/ionization of molecules at the picomole, femtomole, and attomole amounts. Another benefit of the present invention is that measurement of m/Z values is not complicated by the low-mass interference that a matrix normally offers, and therefore the invention provides methods of MALDI MS analysis of low molecular weight samples as well as mixtures of high and low molecular weight samples.

    • A license plate screw guard shields the screws that attach a license plate to a vehicle. The guard is made of soft stretchable rubberized plastic of approximately ⅛″ thickness, and thicker directly over the license plate screws or injection molded plastic with multiple front layers pivotally interconnected by living hinges. The guard fits over the top of the license plate and covers the two plate attaching screws. The front surface of the guard covers the width of the license plate thereby providing a surface for imprinting information. Alternately two guards each cover one of the screws.

    • In this invention, a control circuit (111) controls both the power supply voltage (VDDQ) and the transistor size of the external output buffer to thereby select the lowest supply voltage that achieves the impedance matching with the transmission line (100), to thereby save bus termination by a resistor, thus consequently achieving both the lowering of the power consumption and the speeding-up in the data transmission. The power consumption during the data transmission is proportional to the square of the supply voltage. If the operational supply voltage of the external output buffer is lowered, the power consumption will be reduced accordingly. If the operational supply voltage of the external output buffer is lowered, the impedance thereof will be increased apparently; and at the same time, if the transistor size of the external output buffer is increased, the increased impedance will be decreased. By bringing the output impedance (ON-resistance) of the external output buffer into conformity with the impedance of the transmission line, it becomes possible to output the signal without distortions on the waveform.
