摘要： A fuel cell stack (10) includes a first sub-stack (12), a second sub-stack (14), and a third sub-stack (16) disposed in the flow direction of an oxidizing gas. An intermediate plate (18a) is interposed between the first and second sub-stacks (12, 14), and an intermediate plate (18b) is interposed between the second and third sub-stacks (14, 16). In this fuel stack (10), the flow of an oxidizing gas is set such that the oxidizing gas flows in series in the direction from the first sub-stack (12) to the third sub-stack (16). Between the sub-stacks additional oxidizing gas supplies (70,74) are provided through which oxidizing gas of lower humidity than the humidity of the oxidizing gas entering the first sub-stack is supplied. This arrangement allows an efficient management of the humidity water content of the oxidizing gas with sufficient moisturizing of the solid polymer membrane whilst avoiding excessive condensation of water vapour within the stack.

The influence of a restoring force can be eliminated. The vibration wave motor includes an elastic vibration member which is composed of a permanent magnet and a piezoelectric element which are fixed to each other, a plurality of motion extraction portions provided on the permanent magnet, and a moving member which is pressurized to be in contact with the plurality of motion extraction portions. A closed magnetic circuit of a magnetic flux is formed to connect between the elastic vibration member and the moving member through the plurality of motion extraction portions. A flow direction of the magnetic flux passing through the moving member is aligned with a moving direction of the moving member.

A first seal material is provided on one of the substrates and a second seal material is provided to completely surround the first seal material. The pair of substrates is laminated with each other in a state where a cell space is formed therebetween and the first and second seal materials are sandwiched between the substrates. An inner space of the second seal material containing the cell space is depressurized through an opening provided outside the first seal material and inside the second seal material. A portion where the second seal material is provided is removed so that the cell space formed by the first seal material remains.

The spindle attachment device (11) includes a hollow casing (13) having an internal space; an input shaft (17) rotatably supported inside the casing; an output shaft (19) rotatably supported inside the casing; a coupling member (15) connected to the input shaft in order to join the input shaft to the spindle of the machine tool; a gear train (21) disposed between the input shaft and the output shaft in order to increase a rotation speed of the input shaft for a transmission to the output shaft; and a tap holder (25, 27) for mounting a tapping tool on the output shaft. The spindle attachment device increases the rotation speed of the spindle and transfers it to the tapping tool, and thus makes it possible to perform a tapping process on a workpiece at high speed, while maintaining the rotation speed of the spindle at a low level.

A pair of separators respectively contact the anode and the cathode, and respectively form reaction gas passages between one separator and the anode, and between the other separator and the cathode. For each reaction gas passage, a gas supply passage and a gas discharge passage are formed through the unit fuel cells and one end holding member so that they communicate with the reaction gas passage of each unit fuel cell, and a drainage passage is also formed through the unit fuel cells and one end holding member. An end of the drainage passage and an end of the gas discharge passage on the side of the other end holding member are joined to each other.
