    • A computer anti-theft security system comprising a USB connector having a housing section and a contact connected to the housing section is disclosed. A cable is connected to the contact and extends through the housing section. The contact inserts into a USB port of a computer or peripheral and the cable is then connected to a central alarm monitoring unit. A sensor is disposed within the housing and connected to the cable as well. If the USB connector is disconnected from the computer or peripheral, or if the cable is cut, an alarm sounds from the central alarm monitoring unit.

    • An alarm or monitoring system for a computer network in which network devices are able to be “locked” onto the network, in which condition an alarm is raised if the device is removed. This occurs even when the device is switched off, as the monitoring of the presence of the device is performed by the network. Alternatively, the device may be “unlocked” from the network, in which condition no alarm is raised even if the device is removed. Control of whether a particular network device is subject to the alarm system is therefore in the hands of the user of the device and this is particularly useful for items such as lap-top computers which may quite legitimately be regularly connected to and disconnected from the network.

    • A computer anti-theft security system comprises a USB connector having a housing section and a connector connected to the housing section.     • A security anchoring system comprising a security anchor having an aperture therethrough and a plurality of flexible wings extending outward. There is an adhesive layer attached to the bottom surface of the anchor for adhering the anchor to the article. A security wire is threaded through the aperture in the anchor and is held securely within the aperture of the anchor. A diode is connected to an end of the security wire threaded through the aperture. A switch is located the end of the security wire near the diode. The switch is closed when the anchor is adhered to the article. The switch is opened when the anchor is removed from the article. There is a security monitoring system connected to an end of the wire not threaded through the aperture, which sounds an alarm when the switch is opened. The alarm will sound if a thief attempts to steal the article either by cutting the wire or by prying off the anchor.

    • A security device including a power supply and a pair of conductors connecting the power supply with a source of alternating current. A switch, associated with the first conductors, selectively breaks the connection between the power supply and current source. An outlet is connected by a pair of second conductors to the first conductors such that the switch also breaks the connection between the outlet and current source. A power cutoff relay is connected to the power supply so as to be energized by direct current from it. A pair of signal transfer relays is connected to the power supply. A pair of second normally open contact sets is associated with the third conductors and each is closed by one of the signal transfer relays when energized to connect the jacks together.
