摘要： A label-like pull tab device releasably secures a leading end of a sheet stock material to a supply of stock material for a dunnage producing machine. The device has end portions with an adhesive on a back side, and a tab portion between the end portions. In use, one end portion is attached to the leading end of the stock material, the tab portion is placed across the leading edge of the stock material, and the other end portion, on the other side of the tab portion, is attached to the supply of stock material. The device also includes at least one tear line between the tab portion and at least one of the end portions. Pulling on the tab portion tears the device along the tear line, separating the tab portion from at least one end portion, and releasing the leading end of the stock material from the supply.

摘要： Devices, methods, and systems for splicing a trailing edge of an outgoing roll with a leading edge of a replacement roll with a lapless butt splice on-the-fly during converting and printing production. A first strip of adhesive tape may be placed partially under the leading edge, such that a portion of the adhesive tape remains exposed beyond the leading edge. The replacement roll may be accelerated to match the speed of the outgoing web's movement, a trailing edge of the outgoing web may be cut free from the outgoing roll, and the trailing edge of the outgoing roll may be positioned over the exposed portion of the adhesive tape. A second strip of adhesive tape may be applied over the leading edge and trailing edge using a splicer roller timed to apply the tape when the edges pass proximate to the splicer roller.

摘要： A source for supplying lengths of adhesive tape applies such adhesive elements with their outer surfaces facing outwards onto a gripping element consisting of a rotating drum. The drum in question applies the adhesive element on the outer surface of a reel of web material in such a way as to establish adhesive connection with the latter. As a result of a subsequent movement of the drum with respect to the reel, there is formed a loop of web material. Since the loop is separate from the reel, it can undergo a cutting action with the consequent formation of a free flap that can be used for unreeling the web material from the reel. After the web material has been unreeled for a certain stretch and the portion on which the aforesaid adhesive element was applied has been eliminated, on the same web material there may be applied a further adhesive element which is left uncovered for at least part of its surface provided with adhesive. The said further adhesive element is used for connecting the free leading end of the web material thus formed with the tail part of a web of homologous material coming from a reel which is in the process of running out, in the execution of a typical nullfly-changenull operation.
