摘要： In an information recording apparatus, when it is determined to perform a copy process, a copy processor copies content data cached in a first storage section to an information recording medium as copy destination. A process-result sender sends, to a copy-count management server, a result of the copy process. A cached-data abandoning unit abandons the content data cached in the first storage section if information regarding an allowable number of copies on which the result of the copy process has been reflected represents that a next copy process is disallowed.

摘要： An information recording apparatus mutually communicates with a number-of-copying-times management server via a communication network, the server performing management by correlating medium identification information that enables unique identification of an information recording medium, with information related to number of allowable copying times of digital contents recorded on the information recording medium. The apparatus acquires the medium identification information of the inserted information recording medium, and acquires information related to the number of allowable copying times correlated with the acquired medium identification information, from the number-of-copying-times management server, for recordation in a storage unit. When a user's request is received to display the information related to the number of allowable copying times, the information related to the number of allowable copying times recorded in the storage unit is correlated with the medium identification information and outputted to and displayed on a display unit.

摘要： A content distribution system (100) includes a server device (3) and a client device (2) which are contained in a network (17), and an information recording medium (1) capable of being set in the client device and recordable. The client device, when the information recording medium on which prepaid information or content identification information is recorded is set, transmits the recorded information to the server device. The server device distributes the contents corresponding to the content identification information to the client device within the prepaid range indicated by the prepaid information. The client device stores the contents to be distributed in a storage element (9) and further copies them to the information recording medium. With this, content distribution excellent in promptness and safety can be achieved and also an information recording medium on which desired contents are recorded can be safely and surely delivered to the user's hand.
