    • A printing head for ink-jet printing comprises at least one ink-flow passage in the form of a hollow chamber and at least one ink-jet nozzle coupled to the ink-flow passage. The hollow chamber has a substantially uniform depth over substantially the entire area thereof. Preferably, the head comprises at least two laminated sheet-like members, one of the members having a hollow formed therein to comprise the ink-flow passage, and the other of the members having at least one nozzle formed therein. The head further comprises a flexible wall in communication with the hollowed chamber and a piezoelectric transducer connected to the flexible wall for producing ink-jetting pressure changes in the hollow chamber. Also disclosed are multi-nozzle printing heads with the chambers arranged in a circular configuration, and stacked double and triple decker arrangements.

    • In an ink jet recording apparatus of the ink-on demand type, the recording ink is forcibly sent from a pressure chamber in the recording head to nozzles which jet the recording ink onto a recording medium. An ink cartridge is a closed-up rigid body having an opening therein which permits gas to flow in and out of the rigid body. The rigid cartridge body contains a flexible ink container bag which contains recording ink. A pressurized gas supply is connected to the ink cartridge body in communication with the opening thereof for increasing the pressure inside the ink cartridge body and for thereby increasing the pressure of the ink in the flexible container bag due to flexing of the bag under increased pressure. A cap made of elastic material is coupled to the cartridge body so as to be connected to the ink container bag in a liquid-type manner to supply recording ink from inside the ink container bag to the recording head under pressure to purge the recording head of bubbles and of ink previously contained therein.

    • There is disclosed a camera with a cover sliding between a cartridge exchange position and a work position for permitting photography. A cam plate having a driving rack is mounted securely on inside the sliding cover. A coupling gear is mounted in a camera body with its teeth protruded out of the camera body. The driving rack is engaged with the teeth of the coupling gear only while the sliding cover moves between the work position and the cartridge exchange position, so the coupling gear is rotated as the sliding cover moves between the work position and the cartridge exchange position. The rotational movement of the coupling gear is transmitted to a pinion through a rack plate. The pinion is formed integrally with a door drive shaft. The door drive shaft is engaged with a door member of a loaded photo film cartridge, for rotating the door member to close or open a film port of the cartridge. The pinion is urged by a spring that functions as a toggle spring. The spring urges the pinion in a direction to close the door member after the pinion rotates halfway in the closing direction, or alternatively in a direction to open the door member after the pinion rotates halfway in the opening direction.

    • A flexible circuit board has a magnetic head interface IC soldered on a tongue-shaped portion, which is folded such that the magnetic head interface IC is put inside. A front and a rear side of the magnetic head interface IC is covered with shield patterns. After exposure, the magnetic head interface IC drives the magnetic head to record some information of photography to a recording area in a photo film. When an film cartridge is loaded, the information in the recording area is read out for finding an unexposed frame. In recording and reading, the shield patterns absorb magnetic waves generated nearby the magnetic head interface IC, so that recording and reading signals are not interfered.
