摘要： A video signal processing apparatus in which an input video signal is written in a frame memory on a line sequential scanning frame unit base in synchronism with a first vertical synchronizing signal and which the line sequential scanning video signal written in the frame memory is read out in synchronism with a second vertical synchronizing signal. The second vertical synchronizing signal having a frequency different from a frequency of a first vertical synchronizing signal is generated in synchronism with the first vertical synchronizing signal of a starting frame of five frames forming a pattern after the conversion in the 2-3 pulldown conversion system when it is judged that the input video signal is based on a telecine-converted video signal.

Further, an image quality adjusting processing is performed based on an image quality parameter before adjusting image quality with respect to a part of the generated signal for displaying an identical image, and another image quality adjusting processing is performed based on an image quality parameter after adjusting image quality with respect to another part of the generated signal for displaying another identical image.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to accurately detect a blank area (side mask) appearing outside an image area when an image has a different aspect ratio against a display screen. A boundary between a side mask and an image area is detected with a change of a luminance level of a plurality of scan lines of an image. The side mask is detected with a logical addition of detected results of an active detection unit 3a and a level detection unit 3b. The level detection units 3b sets previously a plurality of judge areas and detects the side mask when the judge areas set in the side mask do not change the mean luminance levels for a prescribed period of time and the judge areas set in the image area change the mean luminance levels.

When the server cannot acquire the user's user setting information, the server retrieves a user parameter registration information including a user name of another person and the title of the request content. When the image-quality and sound-quality optimum parameter is included in the user parameter registration information and an image-quality and sound-quality optimum parameter relating to other contents corresponds to an image-quality and sound-quality optimum parameter relating to other contents of a user requesting an image-quality and sound-quality optimum parameter, the server acquires an image-quality and sound-quality optimum parameter of the another person relating to the request content as an another person's user setting information. Then, the server transmits the user's user setting information or another person's user setting information to the display.

摘要： An image processor of an image processor system acquires outputted image data from an image-data output unit, and generates first quality-adjusted image data and second quality-adjusted image data each of which has been processed under a different quality adjustment condition. The image processor controls a display to display in a display area a first time-division-comparison image having a first quality adjusted image based on the first quality-adjusted image data and a second time-division-comparison image having a second quality-adjusted image based on the second quality-adjusted image data in an alternately-switching manner. With this arrangement, the first and second quality-adjusted images can be displayed without reducing a scale of the entirety. Thus, a user can view the images processed under different quality-adjustment conditions alternately in the same size as the actual size. In addition, since motion images are switchably displayed, continuously-inputted images such as broadcast can be compared with each other in real time. Accordingly, a user can suitably compare quality of the images.

A dot interference detecting device detects variation between the input video signal and the delayed signals delayed for different frames of a pixel at the same position on a screen.
