    • To insert an instrument into a flow stream of a sewer pipe from the street, the instrument is fastened to a holder, which in turn is fastened to a portion of an expansion ring opposite its two opened edges. A cord is fastened to one of the edges of the expansion ring and passes over a curved post mounted to the other edge of the expansion ring and extended upwardly in a direction parallel to the edges of the expansion ring so that it can be pulled to compress the expansion ring to a small diameter cylinder and released to expand it against the wall of a pipe. A post is mounted to the expansion ring to permit a long tool to grip the post and move the expansion ring into a sewer pipe where it is expanded and released.

    • To increase precision of flow in multiple channels of a peristaltic pump, a plurality of spring biased cassettes are mounted to cooperate with a spool having a plurality of elongated rollers which orbit about its center so that each elongated roller in succession compresses a plurality of flexible tubes in the channels against corresponding cam surfaces in the cassettes, spaced from the rollers by surfaces of the cassettes which are in contact with the rolles. In each cassette, the cam is mounted between side plates against which the rollers roll, which are spring biased against the rollers and hinged at a center location to provide precision determined only by the precision of the cam to side plate edge dimension. The cam is shaped to reduce pulses during roller lift-off from the cam surface to provide for pulse-free flow.

    • A liquid sample storage device which utilizes a liner-holder with a liner which may be disposed of after use, thereby eliminating contamination problems associated with reusable bottles. The liner-holder is a hollow, wedge shaped container with an upwardly extending neck section and vents on the top and bottom, as well as a plurality of vents on each of its sides, to allow adequate displacement of air from within the container as the liner fills with the liquid sample. Two embodiments utilize a liner-holder which may be opened into two sections along a vertical hinge to provide access to the interior for proper positioning and later removal of the liner. The liner is positioned within the liner-holder, secured at the neck, and then suspended within the liner-holder by snap-locks or a support hook to facilitate the input of the sample into the liner.
