    • A tubular lining material and a method and apparatus for manufacturing same, the tubular lining material being suitable for reinforcing pipe lines and comprising a tubular textile jacket having on the external surface thereof a coating of plural synthetic resins in the form of laminated layers, characterized in that the outermost layer of the coating is composed exclusively or predominantly of a thermoplastic polyester elastic resin and the innermost layer of the coating is composed exclusively or predominantly of a thermoplastic polyurethane elastic resin, the coating having been bonded superificially onto the external surface of the tubular textile jacket. The tubular lining material is manufactured by simultaneously extruding plural synthetic resins in an annularly layered form superficially onto the external surface of the tubular textile jacket, using an apparatus provided with an annularly arranged multiple extruders. The tubular lining material is significantly improved in flexibility and adhesion to the tubular textile jacket.

    • A tubular lining material for pipe lines having bends or curved portions, which comprises a tubular textile jacket made of warps and wefts woven in a tubular form overlaid with a coating of a flexible synthetic resin and is applicable onto the inner surface of a pipe line having bends or curved portions in such manner that the tubular lining material with a binder onto the inner surface thereto is inserted into the pipe line and allowed to advance within the pipe line with or without the aid of a leading rope-like elongated element while turning the tubular lining material inside out under fluid pressure thereby applying the tubular lining material onto the inner surface of the pipe line with the binder being interposed between the pipe line and the tubular lining material, characterized in that a part or all of the warps are comprised of an elastic yarn around which, over the full length thereof, a synthetic fiber yarn or yarns have been left-and/or right-handedly coiled. This tubular lining material is particularly suitable for use in a lining method taking advantage of evagination as disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 4,334,943 for lining a pipe line having an inner diameter of 25-200 mm and a plurality of bends, such as service pipe lines or house pipe lines of gas without occurrence of wrinkles in the lining material in a bend.

    • A method for forming a coating of rubber or a synthetic resin having an even thickness on the external surface of a tubular textile jacket made of fibers woven or knitted in a tubular form, which comprises continuously passing the tubular textile jacket through one or more baths of a coating liquid and then solidifying the coating liquid attached to the external surface of the jacket, characterized in that an expanding assembly provided with plural expanding members which are capable of inflating the tubular textile jacket to almost circular or elliptical form in its cross section and are arranged at appropriate intervals in the longitudinal direction of the assembly is put in the interior space of the jacket and maintained in a definite position to the coating liquid in the baths, thereby keeping the jacket almost circular or elliptic in its cross section at least for a distance from the position where the tubular textile jacket departs from the bath of coating liquid to the position where fluidity of the coating liquid attached to the external surface of the jacket is substantially lost. The use of the expanding assembly provided with plural expanding members capable of inflating the tubular textile jacket by mechanical pressure which are arranged at appropriate intervals in the longitudinal direction of the assembly overcomes drawbacks in the prior arts and warrants a smooth coating operation for the jacket without trouble.
