    • The invention relates to an electronic device and a method for controlling functionality of such an electronic device in relation to a display unit. The electronic device includes a base unit (3); a display unit (2), an orientation sensing arrangement and an orientation determining unit. The display unit (2) has a first surface area and a second surface area (13) joined to each other by a first and second opposite bounding side and is fastened to and movable in relation to the base unit (3). The orientation sensing arrangement comprises a first sensing unit (15) on the display unit (2) and a second sensing unit (16) on the base unit (3), which arrangement detects that the sensing units are able to communicate with each other and indicates this communication. The orientation determining unit then activates selected functionality of the electronic device based on the indication from the orientation sensing arrangement.

    • A power adapter includes a primary side for receiving power from a mains power supply; a secondary side for providing operating and/or charging power, derived from the primary side, to an electronic device connected to the secondary side; presence logic for determining whether the electronic device is connected to the secondary side; and switching logic for turning off the primary side automatically when the presence logic determines the electronic device is not connected. The power adapter thus shuts itself down if no electronic device is attached, and automatically starts itself up when a device is connected to the power adapter and is thus needed. The power adapter may also include voltage detection logic that detects when the device is fully charged. The power adapter also shuts itself down when an attached electronic device becomes fully charged, and automatically starts itself up when the charged state of the electronic device falls below a predetermined level. While shut down, the power adapter consumes either no power or very little power. The power adapter may wake itself up and provide power to a device even in the event the device itself is without power, such as when the device is turned off and/or has a flat or dead battery.

    • An ear cup which comprises an inner cup portion for the formation of a noise damping space and an outer cup portion for the formation of a space for accommodating electronics, electrical connections and/or a current source. The outer cup portion is fixable on the inner with the aid of a locking member which is insertable in a guide in the outer cup portion. The inner cup portion has a locking recess and the outer cup portion has an aperture. The locking member is placed in the locking recess and the aperture. The locking member has an outer shank and an inner shank. The outer shank is provided with a bulge which engages with a recess in the outer cup portion. The inner shank is provided with a locking portion which engages with the inner cup portion. The locking portion has projections which prevent withdrawal of the inner shank out of the aperture. In association with the projections, recesses are provided which, together with recesses in the outer cup portion, entail that the locking member can “be wriggled” into position in the aperture. The ear cup is designed in order to realise simple and rational assembly of the components included.

    • An ear cup for a hearing protection unit including an inner cup portion which defines a noise damping space facing towards the user. The ear cup further has an outer cup portion for accommodating electronics and/or a current source. The inner cup portion and the outer cup portion are separated by a partition which is of one piece manufacture with the inner cup portion. The partition is substantially closed, with the exception of an opening in which a fixing portion on a bracket is disposed. The fixing portion (9) has a central channel (15) for the passage of supply conductors to a loudspeaker. The supply conductors have a contact placed on the outside of the partition for connection of the electronics. The bracket also has a baffle plate which extends along the periphery of the loudspeaker.

    • A connector for an electric power supply device is disclosed.
