摘要： An apparatus is provided for guiding a weft yarn into the shed of a jet loom by a number of weft guiding members, each having an aperture with an opening. The weft guiding members are composed of a first group of weft guiding members of which the openings are of a relatively narrow width and formed in upper parts of the weft guiding members in the first group, and a second group of weft guiding members of which the openings are of a relatively broad width and formed in side parts of the weft guiding members in the second group. In front of the opening in each of the weft guiding members in the second group are sub-nozzles each having at least one fluid outlet discharging a jet of fluid to assist the weft yarn in being inserted into the shed so that the fluid jet produced by the respective sub-nozzle is obliquely directed toward surfaces of the apertures of the weft guiding members in the first group downstream of the respective sub-nozzle with respect to the direction in which the weft yarn is inserted, which surfaces are positioned on the side opposite to the sub-nozzles.

摘要： A device for inserting a weft yarn in a shed of the jet operated weaving machine provided with a control means for controlling the carrying action of the weft yarn, which is carried by a plurality of pressure fluid flows through a guiding channel formed in a comb arranged in parallel condition to a reed. The comb comprises a plurality of guiding plates and an air escaping passage formed between every two adjacent guide plates in such a condition that the quantity of the escaping air which flows through each escaping passage is maximum at a predetermined portion of each escaping passage. The above-mentioned control means comprises the above-mentioned escaping passages.

摘要： An image coding apparatus and an image coding method allow selecting, according to an image in a macroblock to be coded, a most appropriate intra prediction mode for controlling the amount of generated code. The image coding apparatus includes a block feature quantity calculator which calculates, based on pixel values of pixels in the current macroblock in an input image, statistical information of each of the pixel values; and an intra-prediction block size determiner which determines, based on the calculated statistical information, an intra-prediction block size according to a predetermined reference such that a larger intra-prediction block size is more likely to be selected when a degree of change in the pixel value corresponding to a predetermined direction in the current macroblock is smaller. A encoder which performs intra-prediction coding on the current macroblock, in units of the intra-prediction block having the determined size.

摘要： Video signal coding apparatus includes a quantization unit which quantizes a luminance signal of each of a first picture and a second picture coded after the first picture, and quantizes a chrominance signal of each of the first picture and the second picture. A code amount obtainment unit obtains a luminance code amount and a chrominance code amount of each of the first picture and the second picture; and a rate calculation unit calculates a rate of the chrominance code amount with respect to the luminance code amount for each of the first picture and the second picture. A rate control unit changes a coefficient value of at least one of the first matrix and the second matrix used in quantizing the second picture, before the quantization unit quantizes the second picture, so that the rate for the second picture becomes smaller than the rate for the first picture.
