摘要： The present invention relates to closures for mating with containers having a threaded finish. The closures comprise a flange and a skirt downwardly depending therefrom. The skirt includes a deformable element formed of a different material than that of the flange and skirt and disposed on an interior surface. The deformable element inner diameter is smaller than the outer diameter of the container, and accordingly deforms upon mating the closure with the container. The container threads impress threads into the deformable element to form threads on the closure. The deformable element is formed of a suitable material. The closures of the present invention provide for the use of high-speed press-on capping equipment.

A pair of brackets are included in the assembly for supporting opposite ends of the ornamental box. Each of the pair of brackets has a horizontal floor to underlie the bottom of the box adjacent the end walls thereof, and a vertically oriented, generally U-shaped containment wall having inner and outer bracket surfaces. The lower end portions of the outer box surfaces are recessed to receive the U-shaped containment walls in a manner so that the preestablished design on the box surfaces is extended to include the outer bracket surfaces, and so that the box is removably supported by the brackets against lateral displacement by the inner bracket surfaces.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a vented tamper evident closure of the J-hook type to a container involves a closure of the type including a base, a downwardly depending sidewall portion and a tamper evident band. The tamper evident band is frangibly connected to the sidewall portion and includes a main band portion and a J-hook retention member that includes a plurality of retaining elements and a corresponding plurality of flexible web elements. Advantageously, the retention member is originally molded in a first position wherein it is positioned substantially beneath and in alignment with the main band portion of the tamper evident band. This molding position creates substantial manufacturing advantages. When the closure is installed onto the container, the retention member is circumferentially compressed and folds inwardly as it is moved to a second, engaged position wherein it is bent upwardly and inwardly to engage the container. The substantial circumferential compression of the retention member is enabled by the provision of the flexible web elements. In addition, ventilation openings are preferably defined within the flexible web elements. The ventilation openings provide a dual benefit in that they further promote efficient moldability of the closure and that they permit the entire container assembly, including the closure, to be washed after packaging to remove any food material that may be left after filling permit the closure.

摘要： A composite closure type container assembly that is designed for use with unthreaded containers includes a container having an unthreaded outer surface and an opening that is defined by an upper rim, a sealing disc that is sized and shaped to cover the opening and to seal against the upper rim and a securement member that is removably anchored to the container for securing the sealing disc on the container. In one embodiment, the securement member is removably anchored to the container by using a tight frictional engagement. In a second embodiment, the anchoring is accomplished by shaping the container so as to have a downwardly depending skirt that engages and retains the securement member in position until the container assembly is opened.
