摘要： Fibrous structures composed of electrostatically prepared polysaccharide micro- and nanofibers are described which contain active agents such as drugs and/or flavorants encapsulated within the structures. When exposed to moisture, the structures are disrupted and the active agent rapidly released. The fibrous structures containing active agents such as flavorants can be incorporated into smoking articles which, when smoked, release the flavorants.

摘要： A method of producing a multi-modal pore distribution activated carbon is provided herein by preparing a solution comprising a polymer precursor, mixing an additional material with the polymer precursor in the solution, cross-linking the polymer precursor with the additional material mixed therein, carbonizing the mixture of the polymer precursor and the additional material, and activating the carbonized mixture to form a multi-modal pore distribution activated carbon. The multi-modal pore distribution activated carbon can include pores less than 20 Å and greater than 30 Å or 500 Å depending upon the sorption properties desired, wherein the pore distribution of the activated carbon can be tailored to provide predetermined kinetics and/or gaseous constituent equilibrium isotherms.

The coating formulations deposited on the surface of the capsules can improve the physical integrity and the water-retention properties of the alginate beads. 摘要： A printer and transport assembly includes a transport conveyor for receiving individual blanks and continuously conveying the blanks in a downstream direction. A digital high speed printer is positioned directly above the transport conveyor downstream from where the blanks are received on the transport conveyor for printing high quality indicia on the individual blanks as they are continuously conveyed downstream. A blank drying arrangement receives printed blanks from the transport conveyor and moves the blanks in spaced relationship over a course of travel of sufficient length so as to sufficiently dry the printed indicia on the blanks. Ultimately, the dried printed blanks may be collected in a stack. Packaging, greeting cards, stickers, labels and coupons, for example, may be printed with the printer and transport assembly.
