摘要： A method and apparatus is provided for measuring the content of a low-molecular weight compound in a complex medium which includes a dialyzer, conduits for conveying the complex medium through the dialyzer and conduits for supplying dialysis fluid to the dialyzer to receive by diffusion a portion of the low-molecular weight compound in the complex medium to produce a dialysate. Apparatus is also provided for conducting the dialysate produced from the dialyzer to a measuring unit, wherein the conducting apparatus includes a main flow line having an enzyme bed and a shunt flow line. A control device is provided for directing the flow of dialysate through the main flow line and the enzyme bed or the shunt flow line, so that the flow of dialysate bypasses the enzyme bed. Apparatus is also provided for comparing the dialysates in the main and shunt flow lines.

摘要： Temperature-sensitive instruments and methods for producing them are disclosed. The apparatus disclosed comprises a pair of temperature-sensitive sensors which have at least one electrical property, such as resistance, which varies with temperature, and which are in electrical communication with each other, conductors connected to these sensors so that the temperature-sensitive instrument can be employed to provide a temperature reading by determining that electrical property from the conductors, and where the electrical property of each of the sensors has equal and opposite deviations from predetermined values so that the sum of those deviations approximately equals zero. In a preferred embodiment the sensors are coupled in series.The method disclosed includes measuring an electrical property of a plurality of these temperature-sensitive sensors, which preferably are thermistors, sorting the sensors in accordance with the measured values of that electrical property, selecting a plurality of the sorted sensors so that the sum of the deviations from predetermined values of the measured values of their respective electrical properties is approximately equal to zero, and assembling those selected sensors into a temperature-sensitive instrument.

A charging set and electrode support are alternatively connected to the stimulator system via a single common two-pole terminal. The system is designed to prevent current from flowing directly from the battery to the electrode support along the charging circuit while allowing charge current to flow in the opposite direction along the charging circuit if the charging set is connected to the system instead of the electrode support.

摘要： Electrical stimulators are disclosed particularly for vaginal placement, comprising an element which is elongated along an axis corresponding with a direction in which the stimulator is intended to be placed, and, including a transverse cross-section having elongated axis in one direction perpendicular to its other axis, and a plurality of electrodes located on one side of a longitudinal cross section of the elongated element corresponding with that elongated axis, thus stabilizing its rotation upon its vaginal placement with the electrodes facing in a predetermined direction. The electrodes are adapted to control the urethral, urocystic and/or rectal functions through electrical pulses provided from a pulse generator, and the elongated element is preferably formed of rubber, plastics or the like, and is inflatable.
