    • PURPOSE: A thermally-actuated switch for switching conducting state to a non-conducting state according to an abnormal heating state is provided to apply the current to other current paths instead of a heating body by detecting the abnormal state of the heating body. CONSTITUTION: A first fixed contact(7a), a second fixed contact(8a), a thermal element(9) for displacing a free end between the first and the second fixed contacts, and a movable contact member(10) are installed in an inside of a housing(3). The movable contact member is located at the free end of the thermal element and comes in contact with either of the first and the second fixed contacts. When a present temperature is below a given point, the thermal element makes the movable contact member contact with the first fixed contact. When the present temperature exceeds the given point, the thermal element reverses to make the movable contact member contact with the second fixed contact.

SOLUTION: The switch comprises a housing 1, a stationary contact 3 settled on the inner surface of the bottom of the housing 1, a piece of bimetal 5 having a bending part 5a bendable according to the temperature, to one end of which a movable contact 6 is fixed so as to contact and part from the stationary contact 3, and a stationary terminal 4 to which the other end of the piece of bimetal 5 is fixed in cantilever shape. An extension arm 5b which extends from the fixing part of the stationary terminal 4 in the opposite side of the position of the bending part 5a is formed on the piece of bimetal 5. A coupling holding part 1b which is positioned on the housing 1 by engagement with the extension arm 5b is formed.
