    • PURPOSE: A gallium-cooled passive decay heat removal system is provided to offer gallium or gallium alloys as coolants for a passive decay heat removal system, as gallium or gallium alloys are relatively unreactive towards air and water compared with sodium used in sodium-cooled fast reactors(SFRs), thereby improving nuclear reactor safety. CONSTITUTION: A first heat exchanger(50) is positioned in the inside of a liquid metal. A circulation line(60) delivers heat of the liquid metal to the outside through the first heat exchanger. A second heat exchanger(80) sends out the delivered heat by the circulation line to the outside. A cooling unit(90) is installed at the second heat exchanger. A passive collant(70) circulates in the inside of the circulation line. The passive coolant includes the liquid metal and the other liquid metals which cover a core(20).

    • According to one side of the present invention, provided is a nuclear fuel rod for a fast reactor, which includes: a coating pipe into which nuclear fuels are inputted; a top area which is formed on the upper side of the inside of the coating pipe; a diffusion delay material which is installed in the top area and delays the diffusion of nuclear fission gas; and top and bottom rod end covers which cover the top and bottom sides of the coating pipe, respectively. Wherein, a pin hole is formed on the top rod end cover to connect the inside to the outside of the nuclear fuel rod.
