    • A method for manufacturing a natural gelatin fiber is provided to produce a natural protein fiber having water resistance, by mixing gelatin and PVA(PolyVinly Alcohol), and performing a coagulating process and a cross-linking process on the mixture. An alkaline treatment is performed to extract gelatin except low molecular gelatin through filtering. The extracted gelatin and soluble PVA are mixed and dissolved in an acidic solution such that coacervation is not generated due to concentration difference of colloid. The gelatin-PVA mixture is spun into a coagulation bath in a wet spinning type through a nozzle to form a coagulated gelatin fiber. The coagulated gelatin fiber is cross-linked through a cross-linking bath containing inorganic salts while a drawing process is performed to increase the strength of the fiber. The cross-linked gelatin fiber is previously dried and aged to stabilize the cross-linkage of the gelatin fiber.
