摘要： PURPOSE: A falling detection device and a passenger conveyor are provided to clean out or to remove foreign material by alarming or warning detection of the foreign material in case that a sensor cover is covered by the foreign material or gum is attached on the sensor cover. CONSTITUTION: A falling detection device comprises scan type distant sensors(7). The scan type distant sensors accumulate distances of each measured angle and calculate standard deviation of temporal distance variation based on data in a detecting area and standard deviation of the standard deviation. If the standard deviation of the standard deviation is less than a threshold value, The surface size of objects in the area is calculated. If the surface size of the objects is continued over the threshold value for a predetermined time, it is determined as a fallen state and the scan type distant sensors calculate distance to the objects. If the distance to the object is near the scan type distant sensors and the state where the surface size of the object is over the threshold value is continued over the predetermined time, failure is detected as foreign material is detected.

摘要： The present invention relates to a safety comb plate for an escalator. The safety comb plate for an escalator includes: a plate body unit which is fixed at the front of a landing plate; and a comb unit which is placed at the front end of the plate body unit and has a plurality of sawteeth protruding toward a step foothold and placed at regular intervals. In the sawteeth, a sensing line is mounted to transmit a sensing signal for detecting damage to the sawteeth using a control unit which controls operation of the escalator. According to the present invention, a single sensing line is continuously installed to detect damage to the sawteeth of the comb plate which is fixed at the front of the landing plate so that it is possible to monitor damage to all the sawteeth using a simple structure. In particular, as the single sensing line is simply used to monitor the sawteeth included in the comb plate, costs necessary for monitoring the sawteeth can be minimized.
