    • PURPOSE: A droplet discharge device and a control method thereof are provided to enable the difference between the image-drawing saturation temperature and the temperature of a droplet discharging head to become minor by lowering it at a non-vibration time by optimizing the pulse waveform of non-vibrating control current. CONSTITUTION: A droplet discharge device comprises a nozzle, a driving element, a droplet discharge head(5), a flushing part(12) and a control unit(11). The nozzle discharges the droplet of the functional liquid. The driving element is formed to match with each nozzle. The droplet discharge head comprises a vibrating plate, which is vibrated by the driving element and discharges the functional liquid from the nozzle. The flushing part does not vibrate the vibrating plate while the corresponding droplet discharge head waits. The control unit controls the droplet discharge head. The control unit selects a given non-vibrating control program from a plurality of non-vibrating control programs according to the information of the functional liquid and does not vibrate the vibrating plate according to the selected non-vibrating control program.
