    • PURPOSE: A rotational position control system and method for a ladle turret are provided to reduce working hours by controlling the decelerating position of a ladle turret to accurately stop the ladle turret at the target position according to the weight of the ladle turret. CONSTITUTION: A rotational position control system for a ladle turret comprises a ladle turret(110), a PLC(Programmable Logic Controller,140), and a drive unit(120). The ladle turret has first and second ladles(114a,114b) and first and second arms(116a,116b). The PLC determines the speed of the ladle turret to turn the ladle turret from/to a first position to/from a second position. At the first position, molten steel is injected into the first or second ladle. At the second position, molten steel is discharged from the first or second ladle. The drive unit turns the ladle turret from/to the first position to/from the second position at the determined speed. The PLC also determines the decelerating position of the ladle turret so that the distance from the decelerating position to the stop position of the ladle turret is proportional to the weight of the ladle turret.

CONSTITUTION: The control method of a ladle turret slip-ring communication system comprises a first step of transmitting input and output data of a PLC communication means to a communication sensor of the receiving part through an RS-232C port at a PLC communication card; a second step of storing the converted serial codes into a memory means(36) by converting the process codes into serial codes at a microprocessor(35) to optically communicate with the communication sensor of the receiving part after converting RS-232C codes into process codes by a line transceiver(34) of the communication sensor of the receiving part; a third step of converting the process codes into signals corresponding to a photo-sensor at an encoder/decoder means(38) by converting data stored in the memory means(36) into serial signals at a universal asynchronous receiver/transmitting means(37), and transmitting the converted data to the RS-232C port through a communication sensor of the transmitting part; and a fourth step in which the data transmitted to the RS-232C port of an intermediate remote PLC communication means control a plurality of valves and limit switches through input and output means.
