    • PURPOSE: A non-destructive selection method and a device for gourd seeds infected with a virus using an optical scattering size per depth is provided to obtain an optical tomography-scattering profile per scanning point on the optical tomography images of the gourd seeds or obtained optical tomography images, thereby measuring optical scattering sizes. CONSTITUTION: A non-destructive selection method and a device for gourd seeds infected with a virus using an optical scattering size per depth is as follows. An optical scattering profile per target gourd seed is obtained. An average optical scattering value is obtained from the obtained profiles. If the average optical scattering value is lower than the average optical scattering value of the gourd seeds infected with the virus with more than 20%, the target gourd seed is determined to be healthy. If the average optical scattering value is higher than the average optical scattering value of the gourd seeds which are healthy with more than 20%, the target gourd seed is determined to be infected. The virus is a CMV(Cucumber Mosaic Virus). The optical scattering profiles are obtained by implementing the intensity analysis of A-Scan using OCT(Optical Coherence Tomography). The average optical scattering value of the gourd seeds which are healthy or the average optical scattering value of the gourd seeds infected with the virus is statistically calculated from the DB(database) of substratal healthy seeds or the DB(database) of substratal infected seed.
