    • PURPOSE: An inlet baffle for a water heater is provided to reduce flow rate of a water entering a heating tank in order to minimize turbulent flow in the water tank by adopting a relatively simple structure of the baffle with reduced cost. CONSTITUTION: The inlet baffle is used in a water-heating tank(10) in any one of forms selected from saddle, rectangular shapes or the like. The tank comprises an inlet(12) near bottom side; an outlet around upper end of the tank(10); and a heating element(16). The inlet baffle assembly(20) is located to alter a direction of water flow to another one and to reduce its flow rate in order to minimize the turbulent flow within the tank(10). The assembly(20) is placed above the inlet(12) and comprises an inner cap(22) and an outer cap(24). The inner cap(22) includes a base and a cover at upper end of the base. The cover has an opening portion(30) with variable shapes and dimensions.
