    • A power supply unit and a lighting unit using an EEFL(External Electrode Fluorescent Lamp) having the same are provided to prevent interference between power supply units by shielding a transformer and an inverter through a metal cover. An external electrode(14) is formed in both end parts of an EEFL(10). The EEFL is installed on a top surface of a bottom panel(20). A connector is installed in both sides of the bottom panel. The external electrode is connected to the connector of the bottom panel. A panel cover(30) covers a top surface of the bottom panel. A power supply unit(40) is installed on a bottom surface of the bottom panel. The power supply unit supplies an AC to the EEFL. The power supply unit includes an inverter and a plurality of transformers. The inverter converts a DC into an AC. A plurality of transformers delivers the AC outputted in the inverter to the connector of the bottom panel.

    • A fluorescent lamp ballast for controlling dimming is provided to maintain uniform intensity of illumination in a room by selecting a desired intensity of illumination level. In a fluorescent lamp ballast for controlling dimming, a bridge rectification part(2) generates a pulsating voltage by converting a commercial AC voltage inputted through an AC input part(1). A constant power supply part(3) controls harmonic currents, and maintains a constant output voltage regardless of the variation of an input voltage. An inverter part(5) performs high frequency switching by receiving an operation voltage from the constant power supply part. A frequency generation part(4) controls a lamp current by controlling a switching frequency of the inverter part. A frequency control part(6) controls an oscillation frequency of the frequency generation part. A current detection part(7) maintains a constant lamp current by sensing the inverter part and the lamp current. A resonant part(8) turns on a lamp by resonating a high speed switching voltage by the inverter part. An inverter current comparison part(9) generates a control signal of the frequency control part by comparing currents of the inverter part and the current detection part. A dimming control part(11) controls the inverter current comparison part by generating an operation current according to a control voltage from the outside.

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for automatically controlling and saving power for human watching are provided to prevent the mis-operation by reducing noise using a triac. CONSTITUTION: A detector(10) detects temperature of a human body or movement of a person to output an activated detecting signal(LS). A timer(20) is used for setting reference time data(M1,M2) by a user. A buffer(30) stores the reference time data(M1,M2) outputted from the timer(20). A reverse counter(40) receives the detecting signal(LS) of the detector(10) to set it as the reference time data(M1,M2) stored in the buffer(30) whenever the detecting signal(LS) is activated. The reverse counter(40) outputs an activated fluorescent lamp control signal(LC) until a counted value is reset. The reverse counter(40) outputs an inactivated fluorescent lamp control signal(LC) after the counted value is reset. A terminal of a resistor(R1) is connected to a first supplying voltage(Vcc). A photo coupler is comprised of a photo diode(PD) and a photo transistor(PTR). The photo diode has an anode connected to the other terminal of the resistor(R1) and a cathode connected to the fluorescent lamp control signal(LC) of the outputted from the reverse counter(40). The photo coupler has a collector, a base, and an emitter connected to the first supplying voltage(Vcc) and outputs an activated switching control signal(SCO). A power supplier(60) supplies an AC(Alternating Current) power in order to turn off a fluorescent lamp. A switch(SW) receives the switching control signal(SCO). When the switching control signal(SCO) is activated, the switch(SW) outputs the AC power to an output terminal(OUT) to turn on the fluorescent lamp. When the switching control signal(SCO) is inactivated, the switch(SW) turns off the fluorescent lamp.
