CONSTITUTION: A pollutant exhaust device of a microwave oven comprises a sensor part(41) formed to one side of the microwave oven, to sense smoke and/or moisture produced when food is cooked; a control part(42) deciding whether the sensed amount of the smoke and/or moisture sensed by the sensor part is greater than a reference value; and a fan drive part(43) making air including pollutants sucked and making the pollutants removed from the room. The fan drive part is driven by a drive signal produced by the control part if the sensed amount sensed by the control part is greater than the reference value.

      본 발명에 의해서, 조리 기기의 동작 중에 발생되는 연기 또는 수증기가 신속하게 실외로 배출될 수 있어 실내 환경의 청결도를 한층 더 증진시킬 수 있다.
      또한, 본 발명에 의해서 전자 레인지 배기 팬의 구동에 관한 신뢰성을 한층 더 높일 수 있다. 그러므로, 필요한 경우에는 사용자로부터의 인위적인 조작이 가하여지지 아니하는 경우에도, 필요한 시기에 정확하게 배출팬이 동작될 수 있도록 함으로써, 전자 레인지 동작 상의 신뢰도가 한층 더 높아지는 효과가 있다.

    • PURPOSE: A fire safety control method for a microwave oven is provided to detect the fire and to perform the safe control by using the thermistor placed within the furnace and the thermostat mounted to the air outlet. CONSTITUTION: The fire safety control method for a microwave oven includes the steps of measuring the voltage applied to the thermostat, detecting the temperature of the furnace, monitoring the change ratio of the temperature of the furnace, cutting off the power to the heater when a rapid change of temperature occurs. The microwave oven comprises a magnetron for generating the microwave, a fan for inhaling the air, a plurality of halogen lamps for generating the high heat, a thermostat mounted to the air outlet and connected in series with the halogen lamps, a relay to turn on or to turn off the halogen lamps, and a microcomputer to control the overall operation. The microcomputer determines whether the thermostat is off-operation mode(100), detects the fire(130) by using the thermostat if the thermostat is off-operation mode, and cuts off the relay(140) when fire is detected. The microcomputer measures the temperature by using the thermistor(110) when the thermostat is on-operation mode, and monitors the change of temperature. If the measured temperature is over 2.2 V and the changed voltage for 6 seconds is over 0.42 V, the microcomputer determines this state as a fire(120).

Each resistance value of a first and a second thermistors(40,45) of a microwave oven is detected during a predetermined period after the heating energy is outputted. A state of fire is determined if the sensed resistance values of the first and the second thermistors(40,45) approach a reference value. The power of a power supply(15) is blocked after the state of fire is determined.

The fire sensing control circuit is arranged to stop the operation of the microwave oven in cases where any of the thermostat, thermal fuse and thermistor operates.
