In the vertical interpolation(20) step, a correlation with the pixel at the position to be interpolated is estimated and the pixel of maximum correlation is used. In the horizontal interpolation(10) step, an arbitrary brightness signal of an arbitrary color pixel is used in an edge calculation, and a filtering using the edge calculation is performed.
