    • PURPOSE: A method for optimizing the control of the opening and closing of a sub body in an automatic/manual foldable portable phone is provided to optimize automatic open and close control for the folder of a portable phone. CONSTITUTION: If a user gives a self-diagnosis start command after opening a sub body(900), a control part initializes parameters M1 and M2(902). Then the control part executes motor driving control so that the sub body can be closed(904). Afterwards, the control part measures motor driving amperages, sensed by a current sensing part, as corresponding code values at intervals of 30msec(906). Then the control part judges whether a detection signal corresponding to "completely closed" is supplied from a close sensor(908). If the detection signal is supplied from the close sensor, the control part obtains M1 from the current code values measured before the detection of the close sensor(910). The control part measures motor driving amperages, sensed by the current sensing part, as corresponding code values at intervals of 30msec(912). Then the control part judges whether a given time elapsed after the detection of the close sensor(914). If the given time elapses, the control part stops motor driving(916). Then the control part obtains M2 from the current code values measured after the detection of the close sensor(918). The control part obtains a current threshold using M1 and M2(920) and applies the obtained threshold to the terminal(922).

The memory unit(220) includes a disk drive(221) to store information. The PCB connects between the cell unit(210) and the memory unit(220). The memory unit(220) is driven by the current supplied from the cell unit(210) of the battery(200). As the battery(220) is combined with the main body(100), the battery(200) is connected to the controller of the main body(100) through connection terminals(110) and the PCB.
